Byron Jones Is a complete CYA choice for the Claiborne debacle

Not a worse pick than Brown, just plays a different position. Cowboys have a pretty elite secondary though so it's definitely a head scratcher.

Sarcasm? Our secondary is average at best. The only "good" player I see is OScan.

I think the FO deserves a little slack with the way they have been drafting first rounders as of late.

true but their evals of DBs has been terrible. i'm not too fond of our DB coach.

elite secondary, where???? Other than Scandrick who wants a new contract, Carr is aging and overpaid, Claiborne is a BUST. there's little to nothing..

Brown would play the three technique which Crawford plays...

Yes, you use a stupid term like "workout warrior" without basis, and you have no retort, so you resort to ad hominem. You have such an agenda you've lost all credibility.

Are you kidding?

What player in the last five years fits "workout warrior" more than Jones?

And hey, use "agenda" and "ad hominem" more.

It sort of makes you appear intelligent. But then again since you are copying others, maybe not.

Have you noticed how many choices the Patriots have wasted on defensive backs in recent years?

That is not exactly an endorsement.

They only went out and signed Revis and Browner last year. I mean what are they even doing they'll never win a title like that!

It was sarcasm and a dig at the fact that the Cowboys backfield is littered with talentless JAGs.

Yes I think Brown is a fine choice and I would have rather added to the line, but he also won't have as an immediate impact as Jones will.

Byron Jones Is...

CYA on Carr too. I really think they wanted Gregory, listened to Jay Glazer who is better connected than anybody in the business, and he siad it would come down to the two of them. Gregory just represent too much bust potenial in he first. I wonder if they repeat the Lawrence trade tomorrow to get Gregory.

Meh. Everything I read about him said he was a really good player. Intelligent too.

I like the pick. I would have liked Brown too, but right there those were the BPA.

Hey, if you want to get into a literary pissing match, I'm game. I have a novel coming out this year. But I'd rather keep this to football.

The term "workout warrior" is used to describe unproductive players who excel at the combine, NOT four year, consistent starters who score game winning touchdowns as freshmen.

Do yourself a favor and ignore the talk he will be some savior at FS.

I didn't hate Jones. Almost liked him but not quite. I think he is a quality #2

He is is the Jonathan Joseph class of CB's IMO

1st, Do people realize Mo is still here for another season?
2nd, Do people realize you need 3 legit CBs?
3rd, Do people realize Scandrick is currently skipping OTAs in a money complaint?

This move allows Dallas to leverage Carr into a lower salary or simply cut him June 2nd.

Whether Mo has a great season or not we can use a legit R1 CB.

What's so bad about the Jones pick?

He looks out of position quite a bit in the highlights that i've seen..but in some highlights he looks ok. most of his good highlights were poor pass attempts that he jumped on.

I will embrace him now that he is a Cowboy though.
