Excellent Video!!!

I really enjoyed seeing the former greats and seeing how Julius appears to stack up. I look forward to seeing many more years of him running the ball. Someday it will be as hard to decide which great runs to include and which to leave out for him as well.

Again...Excellent Job calico!

There are some posters on this forum who are just great assets who don't get enough credit. Calico, that was amazing. I am truly impressed.

thank goodness for cable modems.
thanks Calico, that was awesome, great choice of music too, more timeless than had you chosen tunes with lyrics. Good stuff.
Cryke, I didn't realize the Julius was so freaking fast!! He does remind me a bit of Emmitt (dare I speak such blasphemy?!?) but quite a bit more speed.

I think a couple of those clips are actually Duane Thomas, who predates Dorsett. We've had some great runners throughout the history of the franchise.

shhh...I was trying to even it out with the music...lol. caught me. I am going to be changing it this week when I get all my problems fixed, then I am going to add some more Dorsett highlights off some older games I have. I should have known I could not have gotten away with it on a cowboys forum, haha.

Great vid. What, no T-Ham? :)

He was considered... but he tripped over "voluntary" in route to the competition...

Well, the problem is that when I made nostalgia I got my clips from the same place you did - the Cowboys History DVD. And after I got to putting it together I realized I didn't have enough song, so I had to leave the Duane Thomas section out - so I recognized those clips that I had to leave on the cutting room floor so to speak.

What we really need is more vintage footage of these guys. Then we could make some serious videos.

yeah, I could have just left them both together since and said that highlight reel was of the two of them. I have tons of Dorsett footage on my DVDs but some of them are really bad quality.

I will look at some this week and let you know what I have, I owe you footage.

Yeah, that's the problem with old footage - it generally looks old. That's why the Cowboys History DVD was so great, it was old footage but great quality. I wish they'd release old seasons on DVD or something. There is some great footage out there in places like the NFL Films vaults, but nobody has access to it. It would be awesome to pore through some old seasons and create some high quality highlights from yesteryear.

If you can't get divx working you could always try window media encoder 9. That produces quality about on par with divx for various encoding levels. It's generally a little less pixelated, but also a little less detailed - the whole thing is slightly smoothed over. But it's a pretty good codec and you can download the encoder free from microsoft.

^^thanks, I will try that. I edit video for a living at work but have hardly any experience with these different digital formats. I am stuck on linear editing machines. I only work with digital at home.

I don't even know what a linear editing machine is. Since you say you don't use digital formats I'm guessing you mean - film? I've never done any editing other than the Cowboys vids I make. I wouldn't even know how to begin editing actual film.

Awesome video, Calico. I downloaded at about 155.

One thing that struck me about JJ is how much of a north/south runner he is. Although he has the speed to take it outside he always turns upfield at the first opportunity. This kid is going to be special and like others have said, I hope he stays healthy. He caught a few nice passes out of the backfield last year too. Wasn't the knock on him that he didn't catch very well?

TD, Herschel, Emmitt and JJ. I love 'em all.

Yeah - all the time it would take. You would have the second Washington game to work with, and nothing else. Even then, he kept getting caught from behind....

Wow. Just watched. I was honestly thinking, through the first 3 backs, that the music was a bit too stoic. But when we got to the "future" there was a good change, and it fit. My favorite run was when Witten missed his assignment and the DL got into the backfield, then Jones runs outside and makes something out of nothing. The kid looks like an artist.

But even more - watch Allen....he looks like the Larry of Old when he blocks - maybe this is what HE has been missing, a back who makes his blocks worth something. Is it next season yet?
