Calling David Irving

While I do not agree with Irving about marijuana, I do agree the NFL is hypocritical when it comes to drugs, and punishments. With some states legalizing the drug, the NFL had no choice but to let up on their stance on the use of pot in football. But Irving is a talented guy. He possesses talent not many people have. It's his choice what to do with his life but when you don't use the god given talent you have it's called sloth. He should not have given up football for pot.
he took it to a bonehead levels one of those that feel like he doesnt need to follow ANY RULES.. NOT ONE EMPLOYER ALLOWS YOU TO BE INEBRIATED AT WORK, NOT EVEN ONE BEER OR SHOT.. the nfl lightening the rules is for tests that will allow some sort trace amounts of thc to be found but coming to work stoned is still a violation, they test NBA players before and after games randomly, if the THC levels are higher then allowable, they will get fined or suspended, its not the wild west , you abide by safe workplace rules or be a waste of space at home..

if you get injured on any job, they make you immediately go take a piss test and if theres any drugs or alcohol in your test, you wont be covered by insurance not even the TWC, its violation by any employer but in sports environment where you can hurt people or get hurt , its even more important to be safe..

I doubt they would be interested, however, McCarthy did watch him singlehandedly dismantle the GB offense a few years ago. That may influence the interest.

Chances of the Cowboys calling Irving?

I am gonna get slammed for this. But if he decides he wanted to play football and go after a ring, I wonder if he is in shape and if MM and JJ would be interested in taking a look. I know a lot of you don’t like what he did. And I don’t care for the way he treated the whole situation.

That being said he would be a beast at McCoy’s position. But wasn’t he indefinitely suspended or suspended for 1 year, would he have time to ask for reinstatement. I don’t think that we will even consider him but man what a time it would be to have him playing.

Now with the rule change he would simply pay a fine..
I'm sorry....but I don't think I could handle seeing him in another commercial. The cringe is too strong with that one.

Is it still not abundantly clear that Irving doesn't care?
Yeah that was my first reaction.

Does he even CARE?

I will say I'm surprised that we didnt end up with either Irving or Gregory when I considered it likely we would have both.

do we know what we have in the young folks yet? To give up on them for a dude who may or may not have his head in the game not sure if that's solid decision making. That said Im not going to lose over it.I just dopnt want him taking up a roster spot that could be used effectively elsewhere if we get the same ole David irving
The same ole David Irving was pretty good.

My motivation is to lose Crawford and his 8m (this is all moot because Jerry isnt going that route).

However Irving isnt the guy you count on to start at 3T.

Crawford cant be counted on to not be extremely average there.

I posted yesterday....I have little doubt Gallimore and maybe even Hill outperform him. Just hope the staff doesnt either to play them or hear from you know who about snap counts once that happens.

I know I keep repeating this but as someone who suffers from chronic headaches if Irving or other people can only find relief by using marijuana then more power to them (and yes I'd give up a lucrative career to get serious relief, provided I already banked millions).

If he was willing to change his lifestyle and the Cowboys were comfortable with that, McCoy would never have been signed.

He is in the reinstatement process now. But with the way he acted towards the NFL I am not sure what they will do. They are giving Gregory fits over weed also. They say the changed the rules but goodell is still in charge. Politics are involved.

Just give our young prospects a chance, if they aren't ready then they could always turn to Crawford.

He can kick rocks. Last season he played he missed training camp because "uhh i'm having baby momma drama". He then gets an moderate injury and absolutely refused to show up to the facility for treatment when 1. He had enough time to heal and get back into the line-up before the season end and 2. The team was trending upwards and could of used him (he basically quit on the team). People harp about how he is a victim of failing for weed when 1. One of his failed test was for an actual legitmate performance enhancer and 2. Can't claim victim when you quit on the team
