Calvin Watkins: Cowboys are expected to interview Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn

The cowboys job is objectively the worst job in football. Even worse than the Jets. There's ZERO chance Johnson touches this team. He'll have better options. Glenn ....he might be desperate enough.
If you think the Cowboy's job is worse than the Jets, Bears, and Raiders....I don't know what to tell ya. Just me, Pat's job is the only better than the Cowboys. The Jags and Saints are close but Dak and Parsons give the Cowboys the edge IMO.

Watched Watkins say the words, but it lacked the clarity/certainty that would support the conclusion that this is really expected to happen. It sounds more like he's been told "it could happen."

And.

Of course.

It could.

But as the mantra goes, sorta... "Your words tell me yes, yes... but your actions tell me no, no."

They've rapidly put together interviews with Kellen and 2 candidates of color this weekend.

Why do that if you're anticipating stringing this thing out to the Super Bowl anyways?

Actions say they're not.
Yeah to me this is bogus. I don't believe Johnson will get an interview here.

The Cowboys job is the ONLY one in the NFL where the HC is undermined, neutered, and humiliated on a DAILY basis by the owner. That doesn't happen anywhere else. That alone makes it the worst job in the league, which is why the only HC's that come here are desperate burnouts or unqualified new newbies. Then add in the next HC will have the Dak anchor, recent blown drafts, etc. It's not even close.

Man I don' tknow about that. These are some bad organizations that need coaches. Only one missing is the Giants.

My bet he's going to the Raiders, rumors here that a package deal with Johnson and Commanders assistant general manager Lance Newmark is in the works.

If he does make this move he is a guy supremely confident in his abilities and with a real competitive nature, Payton, Reid, Harbaugh in the division and starting with no QB.

Brady loves him and he and his GM (whomever that might be) will have a real opportunity to remake and resurrect one of the NFLs legacy franchises.

I'd love to see it.
All this is true BUT good luck winning in that division. ALL three teams except the Raiders have elite QBs AND HEAD COACHES. Raiders have NO QB, so he's already behind the 8 ball from day one. Winning is what matters in this league, 2 losing seasons will take you from honeymoon to hot seat. Hell, I would take the Jets job before the Raiders........at least the bar is much lower.

You sure about that? Jets job for sure is probably worse you get undermined by the owner and Aaron Rodgers.

Lol, such a terrible job.

Excellent news. And hopefully they are serious about bringing in someone like these two men and not just retreads.

Why do they have to wait until the Lions season is over?

Everyone else gets interviewed during the playoffs. What makes the Lions different?

Just me but the Pats job is the only one better than the Cowboys
  • Raiders.......no ( tough division )
  • Bears..........no (GM and Pres already in a power struggle)
  • Jets..............no ( one name, Woody Johnson )
  • Saints..........not bad ( no QB )
  • Jags............ about even ( but I take Dak and Parsons over Lawrence )
  • Pats.............Yes
