I wouldn't worry about it- you know we are going to draft LB's and TE's on the first day of the draft anyway.

Not him he couldn't!:D

I think that Troy Smith has come a long way since he took over the reins in starting at QB for our Bucks. However to paraphrase a rap tune.. I just wish he were a little bit taller!! I'm not so certain when the tale of the tape happens for the scouting combine he'll actually measure in at 6'1".

This is ridiculous. Not a single one of us knows. We haven't seen him play outside of training camp, and haven't seen a single of those teams play NFL level competition.

These QB threads are kinda dumb. I am all for benching Bledsoe, but that isn't because I 'know' Romo can do the job, more because I feel like I know what we have in Bledsoe. Anyone who 'knows' what we have in Romo is kidding themselves - he is an unknown at this point. That's why he is attractive.

Good points,I am also tired of Bledsoe, but what troubles me is Romo in 4 yrs of less than stellar QB production here has yet to convince the coaches to give him playing time.

Is it just veteran bias by them?

Slow development by Romo?

Too much talent in front of him?:lmao2:

He should NOT be unknown to the coaches, and IF he is as talented as some project, why can't he earn playing time?

I find it hard to believe even a hardcase like Parcells would supress a great talent.
Which leaves me thinking Romo has just now matured as a qb, or he has not shown the coaches enough...so should he earn a chance...or be given one?

The bolded is your answer. Parcells is the one who drafted Chad Pennington, but it took quite a bit of time before he got on the field ahead of Testaverde, and then only because of injury. Obviously it was a different coach, but the point remains the same. Parcells is terrified of the unknown at QB.

I say lets draft a qb and find out. Romo may be the guy. I hope to hell he is, but I can't say that I'm overly confident in him. Even though he hasn't played, the time on the bench should put him significantly ahead of a rookie. I just want to hedge our bets. I liked what I saw from him in preseason, but the ideal situation is to have to choose between two good young qbs.

Question should be if Romo could beat these guys out, wether is Romo more talented than these players.

The answer to that is a few guys on that list are far and away more talented.

I believe we draft a QB next year so we shall see,.

I hope your right and thats all it is,as that would be simply Bill being conservative and subject to change if Bledsoe doesn't improve.

However Parcells has gone with the younger option when the talent dictated it.

He could beat out many of these next year. the problem is that our investment in Romo is minimum, compared to a early #1 QB and our incentive to play him alot less vs the teams that draft a highly touted QB prospect.

Kevin Kolb, 6-3, 220, Houston
Tyler Palko, 6-2, 220, Pittsburgh
Troy Smith, 6-1, 215, Ohio State
Trent Edwards, 6-4, 220, Stanford

Brian Brohm, 6-4, 225, Louisville
Kyle Wright, 6-4, 220, Miami
JaMarcus Russell, 6-6, 250, LSU
Erik Ainge, 6-6, 220, Tennessee
Chad Henne, 6-2 225, Michigan

A simple question and a legitimate one for all the Romosexuals on this forum. Take into account, this may be Parcells last year in Dallas and a whole new coaching staff (system) could be here in 2007.
