Didn't someone point out at the time that Dave Meggett was smaller then Cason?
He did pretty well for quite a while.

How many years was he an every down back? 20+ touches a game?

How much of the change in JJ is due to BP's rant about not taking chances and going where the play is designed?

Gimme a freakin' break. So JuJo starts getting hit (when he can easily make people miss) and it's BP's fault.

Hey, I think El Nino is Parcells' fault too.

If there's one thing Parcells has done a good job coaching it's RBs. Quit blaming JuJo's short comings (or possible short comings) on Bill Parcells.

BP made a BIG deal about negative plays- not taking chances- going where the play is designed. JJ listens- and does that. Why is THAT hard to grasp?

go back and look at the tackle where he got injured, has nothing to do with durability, no ones foot/leg is meant to bend the way his did.

I agree 100%... JJ has proven that he can carry the load but his recent injury I don't believe has anything to do with duribility. It's kind of like calling T.O. injury prone because of Roys horse collar last year. JJ was tackled ackwardly with the LB putting his entire weight on his ankle.

Emmitt was my favorite player but nobody seems to remember the 96/97 Emmitt.. he may not have missed entire games often but he was constantly hurt.. limping. getting up slow etc. Emmitt was a warrior of course.. I just wouldn't write JJ off as unreliable just yet.

So was Aikman unreliable given his numerous injuries.. concussions/knee/finger... I guess we just need something to talk about?

An injury is an injury. I understand that some injuries aren't the fault of the injured player always. The cold hard fact is that since JJ has been a Dallas Cowboy he's missed 9 1/2 to 10 games by my count, out of a possible 22 games. That is a problem, and so far it's a re-occuring problem. So far JJ is prone to getting injured, be it his fault or not.

How many players hurt their own leg or shoulder, or whatever they injure? Injuries usually happen with contact.

Could we rely on him when he had concussions, or was out with a knee or finger? I guess thats a no.

You can't rely on a player when they're hurt. Aikman was reliable for a very large chunk of his career. JJ on the other hand hasn't been.

EveryoneElse... my point exactly.. if you condense this argument to a rookie who has missed 2 out of 4 games you wouldn't conclude that the player is injury prone or unreliable quite yet would you? The reason why Aikman is respected is because of his entire body of work which began to take off in his 3rd (which was also plagued by injury) and 4rth years only. Would've been a mistake to judge Aikman midway through his second year right? Sure... in hindsight.. but he was heavily criticized anyway. I just think we need to revisit this argument a little later and give JJ some time. I truly believe some players are truly unlucky and that some are truly injury prone. I guess I'm just not ready to put that label on JJ just yet.

How does THAT negatively effect JuJo's style?

BP is only preaching what every RBs coach (or head coach) has likely been preaching to JuJo since he played Pop Warner football.

Is THAT hard for YOU to grasp?

I'm not counting on JJ being ready for week 7.....A high ankle sprain usually takes about 3-5 weeks to heal.
