I gotta admit, if Deuce runs for 80 yards and two TD's next game then I'm just going to have to ignore your kind advice.

I'll try to keep an even head. However, it's been unbalanced for so long.....
Or if Stephens has a big game and a couple of Moss type receptions over DBs and LBers. Then excitement is going to trend upwards. I would feel more comfortable with Zach in camp and happy.

The only thing I can assure you of at this point is the NFC East. It's not going to be the cake walk it has been the last few years.

I have to agree with the original poster that preseason to me is just nothing more than practice cause you’ll do a lot of things that you normally wouldn’t do in the regular season
most of the people that are just fans only care about winning and losing and if you lose than your team is, no good. Those that know the game understand what’s trying to be accomplished in the preseason games. Teams aren’t gonna show their hands of what they’re gonna do during the season so it’s very simplified and vanilla just to see how these young guys react. Some of these guys are young and very very wrong and getting playing time is what helps them learn from their mistakes.

On the negativity and the hype after only ONE pre season game!!! Let's give these guys some time to fix their mistakes, and not GLOAT in their success in only 1 game. No need to get all mad, it's only the pre season, guy are going to make mistakes. The guys that played good, they may not be as good next game, we can't give up on them after praising them. Let's stay with an even head, it's a long season!!!! Please give your thoughts!!
Oh Oh Oh you're in trouble now!!!! :muttley:
This is the time of year when HOMERS are blooming and there's Kool-Aid galore being served daily.
Heck, that midget HB of ours is already headed for the HOF and Dak Prescott is Dan Marino.
Now here's a dose of reality............... This team will go as far as the defense can take it.
The End.....................

I think a lot of what we see are a couple of things: Frustration that certain needs of the team are yet again overlooked, valid criticism of that, and people overreacting and think it's "hating" or complaining that the season is over.

I'm sure there are some people doing that, but most of it is just criticism but certain homers can't stand that in any way so attack.
I think people are frustrated.

For example: Our 1st round pick is slow and can’t pass rush.

He’s going to be at target now . But I think he will still succeed . How’s that for a homer (midget). Tells me everything I need to know , Explains a lot.

Only play I am disgusted with is the Jags TD where our entire DL had the guy dead to rights and he shrugged off abut 5 sure sacks and threw the TD. Terrible.
I agree. But I think a lot of it has to do with a problem, to really take down a quarterback penalty.

The referees missed an obvious holding call on that play. The Jags Oline tackled a defensive lineman. It is preseason for the referees also, and that was a big blown non-call.

I thought the team looked fine the other night. Sure there were 10-15 plays that had me scratching my head, but it's the first game of pre-season... They'll be fine until the playoffs come around and the "franchise" gets outplayed again.

3 things make a successful preseason, health, health and health. If you come out of preseason a healthy football team, it was a success.
^ This.

Starters are usually locks. Essentially, preseason makes certain whoever does not get cut for the final roster can supplement them.

The great thing about that was that it doesn't count. I would have had an outer body experience had that cost us a regular season game. This is why I was more excited about picking off Lawrence with our backups than I was upset about that TD. That TD was a fluke. Plays like that happen from time to time.

YES it is just 1 ps game, so no need to draw any conclusions about the team or players yet.
Some are already saying deuce is headed for the HOF ! lol. I will wait and see what he does in the reg season games.

The one thing I am noticing is no dallas starters played at all.
Denver played wilson and starters till they scored a td with 6 min left in the 2nd qrt.
Cards played starters for 1 qrt, and they have changed , good defense with mostly bkups, new HC and New culture. Dont pencil in a win for dallas just yet.

Jags played starters for at least 2 possessions ?
I think others played their starters in this 1st week too. I doubt dallas plays dak or starters at all.
I am curious if the giants played starters? It does help get players in the groove for week 1.

how about just giving the 3rd string qb credit for a great play and throw? That was a great effort by him.

One main thing to keep in mind. as we get the ... this guy is a jag ... he sucks ... this guy is great ... he will make the team ....

There are always a few stand out players. Looks great against back ups but does not do as well against starters.
However there are also many players that are called Scrubs, or JAGS.
Remember when out there with other 2nd and 3rd and 4th string players. If those players do not do their jibs, then every player sucks.

But, if you put that same player between the starters and if all pros, then they can be and look much better.
Because that players rookie mistakes are covered up by the starters most of the time.

Sure Grier looked bad at times, but with players that won't be there. Let him play with the starters and see what he can do ... oh, wait ..bad example....

So don't be so hasty to judge some of these players (good and bad). Yeah, I know, no one will take that advice. :muttley:

I usually reserve judgment until I see what Mickey Spags has to say.

Assessing this team in a first exhibition game is like considering a beautiful woman first thing in the morning, before she's had coffee. You never know.
Don't let her have that coffee, she might wake up and realize who she is with.
