Can we really go into the season with two change of pace backs as our top two runningbacks

We need a grinder to get the tough yards and goalline carries. I love Duece and Pollard but they are smaller backs. Can we give Luepke some more opportunities to see what we have.
People don’t like Elliot, but he wore down the defense

I can't ..... I just can't I 'm sick of arguing with my supposed Cowboys Fans about how we suck. At every position. We suck at RB now ? Really ?

We all know we have the worse QB ever to lace up cleats (Sarcasm) The Defense Sucks Mazi is a Bust.

We signed Zack Martin POOF He 's too old and we overpaid for him.

Mike McCarthy is a Super Bowl winning Champion, Who has come to Dallas and made us a Back to back 12 win Team. Yet he's a bone head and can't coach

Kellen Moore was seen as a questionable play caller , yet this year we can't do with out him

Man you guys will mess up a Nocturnal Emission !!!!!!! I swear I just can"t

Guys don't worry. Micah will go in as a RB and take care of it.

He had the exact pressure the 7 seasons prior to that. 14 was an anomaly. 15 was back to the usual.
The pressure he had the previous seasons led to him and the team struggling in the playoffs, and not being able to make the playoffs. The Cowboys missed the playoffs 4 straight years beginning in 2010, because Jason Garrett was trying to learn how to be a head coach, and the Cowboys were rebuilding their OL. Some of the pressure started to be lifted off Romo with the emergence of DeMarco Murray in 2013. He had over 1100 yards and 9 TDs that season.

But the owner never did enough to help the QB. He was 35 in 2015 with the pressure on his shoulders for most of his 9 years as the full time starter. Some of that pressure finally began to lift too little too late. Would've been nice when he was 28, 29 30 31 etc.. Those are the years. That situation Jerry and Garrett built in 2015 was just par for the course.

This is becoming a lot more involved than I intended it. Hopefully our RB situation doesn’t become a huge problem this season.

I dont know if any of those guys run tough. Dowdle and Davis haven't been able to distinguish themselves. Davis should've been in that playoff game, but his attitude kept him on the bench. I honestly don't understand why you keep him around after that. If they didn't trust him them how can they ever? I believe Dowdle has been hurt, but I'm not sure.

If it's just a banger you might be right in any case.

We need more than that though. We need a true back up who can start a few games in a pinch. I'm not comfortable with any of these guys being starters for multiple games. Why we didn't draft a true workhorse in the middle rounds is beyond me, but they should be signing a solid vet. Hunt would've been a nice addition.

Edit: I ignored RJ, but what little hope I've had for him has been shot with his suspension and being dinged up.
RJ was that cheap, vet signing. And I was one of the few that thought hed be a good backup for us. But now? Im disappointed to say the least. They've been high on Dowdle for a couple years now. They signed Davis from the practice squad last year because Philly, I think, was looking at signing him. I like what Ive seen from him.
And there will be cuts and trade options in a couple of weeks. Im not at all worried.

In a few weeks if we stand pat and sign no one? Are you still not concerned?

I actually thought RJ might be alright as well, but his summer hasn't built up confidence.

I dont necessarily mind those guys getting carries, just not comfortable having any of them carry the load for an extended period.

It feels like how we addressed WR last year and ended up chasing down TY at the last minute.

Deuce can be the short yardage RB for all I care. I've never seen so many ppl worried about 3 or less yards then here. Screw that Dallas has speed n quickness at RB not some guy who's too slow to even make it thru the hole.

If Dowdle and Davis absolutely fall apart, which I don't think they will, and they decide to move on from RJ, we'll look for someone else. RB is the most plug and play position.

I'm wondering why you say RJ's summer has not built up any confidence. I have seen reports from the beat writers saying that he has looked good in training camp. I believe McCarthy also mentioned him without being asked directly. Yes, the suspension works against him, but it isn't a guarantee that he won't be on the team in some fashion. Maybe practice squad in the event of an injury.

We’re not going know until the season starts if there’s enough here. We won’t be playing any starters in the third preseason game. That final preseason game is for bubble players. No way are the Cowboys going to risk injuring a starter in that last preseason game. Everyone but Pollard is unproven. Hopefully we don’t run into the same problem we ran into during the 2015 season. Everyone thought the combination of Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle would be enough and it didn’t work out. If we struggle to run the ball this season and pound it into the endzone from up close it’s going to put more pressure on Dak.
You would think with our history of any old RB can do it, we would learn by now.

We did plug and play with Randle, Alf and DMC. The following year we took Zeke. There was and is a difference. I'm not saying there aren't guys out there, just that i don't believe we have one.

Be nice to see a RB who can get those short yards AND break a long run. Imagine? That would be amazing.

Hopefully we don’t run into an issue where games get put on Dak every week, because we can’t run the ball consistently. It’s going to be very tough for him to improve on last season if that happens.

Thats good to hear. The only reports I had seen is his suspension and an injury. Like I said I wasnt necessarily crapping on his signing, but hadn't seen much positive momentum.
