"Can we stop bringing up Cooper", and it's 4 pages and growing...
It's amazing they had the #1 scoring offense in the nfl since dak came back from injury. But they're garbage. So it must've been dak playing elite that got them the #1 scoring offense? Our Wrs, TEs and RBs were hot garbage in terms of receiving. Still talented?
I think it’s a fan defense mechanism. A guy who leaves your favorite team can’t possibly be good anymore. It helps people cope with loss.So who are we taking right now Gallup or Cooper?? Which one of these players can get open 1on1 situations? Who can create route separation?
You guys make it seem like Cooper was some JAG just collecting a check. Cooper could have made a difference just on the simple fact of keeping defensive schemes honest. If Cooper was here, Defenses will have to factor in defending him as well as Lamb & Shutlz.
Cooper put up solid numbers in his first season with the Browns despite having a career backup QB and a new QB who hasn't played in 2 years who relied on a heavy rushing attack with Chubb. And Lamb still had only 199 more yards than Cooper this season.
You go 1st and I will followFor goodness sakes Jerry made a horrible personal decision to release him. On the other side, did amari really change the complex of games for us? With #4 back there did he actually throw it to him when he was open, and was it a catchable ball??
In my opinion he's just bait because of the lack of talent they didn't have this season. The constant feeling that we could play with who we had was a JOKE! I hope this summer they take it more serious. Having weapons helps, but getting open, scheming, and good placed passes help also
Yeah, like Schultz and Gallup!Cooper wasn't worth $20M per year to this team. It was a good move to move on from him and it was planned the day his contract was signed. The 5th round pick that many get hung up on was probably due to our front office being unable to ever just shut up. But, he was going to be cut so no big deal. Lamb is much better and this team has bigger needs and better uses for $20M
Would you? He knows Dak is wak, had a better season with jacoby brissett let that sink inHe had skills but did not trust the Dallas process and/or the coaches...
And we’ll be going in circles. As we have for what? 28 years now?We need to load up on offense for Dak if Jerry isn't going to move him. If Dak continues to suck, which I expect, we'll have a first class offense ready for the next QB.
It was 2017 all over again. My problem wasn't getting rid of Coop, it was they had no backup plan to replace his productivity in addition to Lambs. The WR core scared absolutely ZERO teams this year especially outside of Lamb.
What's amazing is that we are in a thread specifically about WRs and you chime in with the entire offense scoring accolades. And they're not even correct. And you won't find a single post claiming Dak was/is/will be elite. So that's pretty dumb. It's amazing they had the #1 scoring offense in the nfl since dak came back from injury. But they're garbage. So it must've been dak playing elite that got them the #1 scoring offense?
Mind your business. It's amazing they had the #1 scoring offense in the nfl since dak came back from injury. But they're garbage. So it must've been dak playing elite that got them the #1 scoring offense?
Excellent point, Coog. So who's the Dak scapegoat this time? For goodness sakes Jerry made a horrible personal decision to release him. On the other side, did amari really change the complex of games for us? With #4 back there did he actually throw it to him when he was open, and was it a catchable ball??

And if we'd be smart enough to dumb Dak and Zeke this off, we'd be better off in the long run. Dumping Cooper hurt us short term, but could help us long term. That's if we start making intelligent moves, and no, I don't have much(any?) confidence in that!!!!If we’re talking about “grossly overpaid”, the list is long:
Dak
Zeke
Schultz
Gallup
Cooper came much closer to earning his money than they did.
His ‘sin’ was not having the guaranteed money the others had. That allowed poor cap managers to trade him.
Also true.Because Cap Boy had the team in a financial bind and Cooper’s contract offered the easiest relief.
We rolled it over into next year, and we'll need it w/ Dak taking 49 mil of cap space.Cooper isn't worth 20MM is a pretty common statement in these type of threads but what did Dallas do with that extra 20MM?? Since March 11, 2022 day we traded Cooper away
signed Jalen Tolbert
signed Kavonte Turpin
signed Ty Fryfogle
signed Dennis Houston
signed Jaquarri Roberson
signed Dontario Drummond
signed James Washington
signed Antonio Callaway
signed TY Hilton
looking back at this list of prospects, that 20MM doesn't seem like a big pill to swallow from a Billionaire with cap space in a "win now" mode.
