Mafah might get cut. Trigg might sneak into the 53. He's too good to screw around and risk him getting poached. My money is on a couple surprise cuts. Are we sure Schoon and Luepke are safe?

I think Leupke is safer than Schoonmaker to make the 53, Leupke needs to be used more creatively but this is just my opinion . I am from the old school mindset that good football teams carry an old fashioned thumper and pass catcher at fullback.

Agreed. It's a physical game in the end. Playoff times you need those kinds of guys.

We keep hearing about luepke and his versatility but does he help us win games? Is that roster spot being misused? Can we cut him and keep a better player that helps us more in an area of need?

Leupke would be a great asset but Dallas has failed to use him correctly, Leupke should be Dak's receiver when everything else is covered. For instance I will use this as an example, Aaron Rodgers always had a quick dump off pass when all else broke down. This helps your QB it's simple stuff really but it makes a huge difference.

I really like Smith from East Carolina as well he reminds me of Drew Pearson with his good hands and speed, Dallas is loaded at wide receiver. Trading one of these receivers for a good offensive tackle looks to be a move that needs to be made for sure however.

These kind of players help win football games, it is a fact. Leupke is a thumper out of the I formation with good hands. I want to see more of him in the offense, the kid is a throw back Like Moose Johnston and John Kchune , ( Green Bay) from yesteryear.

Lol, that's how they use him now.

He's great in pass protection, and he can leak out for dump offs if needed. They run screens with him, too

Cowboys gave up a 4th and expected him to walk on water. When injuries set him back and walking on water didn't happen, he was a bust.

Mingo looked like TO on that Joe Milton bomb last night and Schottenheimer loves his special teams prowess so it would appear Mingo has finally turned the corner here after all.

I picked Milton over Howell when camp started . Didn’t see much upside in Howell at all . That INT into triple end zone coverage was brutal .

The Texans need a WR as well as some other teams. The problem is to get a good player you’ll have to give up a good draft pick or a good player or both.

Milton won the backup QB spot last night, good performance from big Joe Milton. This guy looks like a different player this season, he has much better touch on his passes. Coaching matters.

Jerry expected him to. And that is where lays the issues. As some fans want that to use as a reason.
I am willing to wait to see what he does when healthy.

I will be ok though if they trade him.
Neither he or Brown is that difference maker. They can contribute though.
And Mingo more than Brown for his ST’s play.

As a Sam Howell guy all offseason I can do nothing but tip my hat the Joe Milton. I think we all knew the ceiling was there but a lot of doubt about if he could actually get there. Still too early to crown him but boy does he seem to be doing everything in his power to get there.

Mingo I’m still staying stubborn on and not buying in just yet. The good camp is good to see, but I need to see a lot more still. He’s done enough to make the roster imo, but I don’t see him as a significant contributor on this team. Hes still a WR4/5….maybe even someone you flip if his stock is high?

Mingo plays on all special teams and gets snaps on offense. He is an important part of the roster.

The fact Luepke can play tight end in an emergency makes Schoonmaker seem even more extra. But this team is married to their draft picks and I don't think either of them go.

Both players are good and can definitely contribute to this team, but it will come down to Schoonmaker vs. Trigg and Trigg looks like a matchup problem waiting to happen.

I am racking my brain to remember players that showed such improvement year to year. Both guys have been terrible but they have looked great this preseason. Good for them. Seriously can anyone remember guys that improved like this year to year? I can't.

Well, both of these Cow Pokes have played quite well to this point. I'm more interested in real deal stats, but after watching these two in two preseason games, I'd have to say I'm a little giddy about these two............

They don't need to be real deal they just need to be depth guys that won't be terrible. I had zero confidence in either but now I think they won't be terrible if called on.

I agree. With how loaded we are at WR, we should see if we can get an OT and/or some draft capital back.
