Has to be the worse executed Tush Push I have ever seen. Not impressed. Do better McCarthy. This was so BAD.

Everyone’s trying to get lower than the Eagles. I say run over the top of them. Push them to the ground. Let them get low. And then go high right into the quarterback.

On one of the 4th down attempts in the 4th quarter, Hurts feet were off the ground. Noticed it on replay.

When they run it, it seems like it has a 100% success rate.

I don't think I've every seen anything as "certain" as the Tush Push in my 40 year history of watching the NFL.

I absolutely don't want to see the NFL ban it, I'm intensely curious to see how long it will take opposing NFL defenses to stop it.

I have no issue with it but I grew up with the idea it wasn't legal to "assist" a ball carrier so I am confused as to if it's already illegal??

The Eagles Tush Push is unique because they have a great OLine combined with a QB that can squat 600 lbs. Hurts has the lower body of a power RB. There are probably not any other teams in the NFL that have that combination of OLine along with lower body power from a QB.

Agree. The literally ran this on 4th and a full yard and a half feom their own 25 yard line....in the 4th Q....because they KNEW they were unstoppable

It will be stopped when Kelse retires.

A plain QB sneak is the same thing. I believe Hurts will still have a high percentage of success even if the push is outlawed. And what I find ironic is that the Eagles, who have done the push for almost 2 years, have 0 injuries from the play. I wish we were efficient doing it.
No, not at all...delivery of a high amount of concentrated force and directed at knee levels is NOT a quarterback sneak scenario...get educated up.

you stop it by winning the early downs on defense.

they know the refs. will let them push as long as it takes for them to get the 1st...5 sec. or 1 minute....take the 2 players pushing from the back out ...then lets see how good they are...

This annoying Hurts squat narrative needs to stop. Watch all of his carries from this formation. He doesnt even bend his knees to squat or push. He is getting all the push from behind. To be able to get the traction on the ground, use your squat strength and actually push the defenders would require him to be upright. Her is almost laying down when they start to push him from behind.

The play should not be allowed. Other offensive players should not be allowed to push or pull another player forward intentionally for yards.
I believe you can't pull someone for yards. Not sure how you can push them.

They also keep spinning it and pretending the eagles are the only team successful with it.
The success rate is so over the top high and the percentage of eagles success vs the rest of the league in only a few percentage points higher. When a play has a 90% success rate it becomes a joke.

I haven't watched the play too closely but saying that Hurts' leg strength has nothing to do with the success of the play seems unlikely. Just like a RB or any other player being pushed, the player being pushed will keep driving their legs. The stronger the player being pushed and the stronger the players doing the pushing the more likely the play is to be successful.

As far as the rules go. it is illegal for a an offensive player to pull the offensive player with the ball. The push technique is legal and used all of the time. I see the push technique used multiple times in every game I watch. There was a big one yesterday where Travis Kelce caught the ball at the opponents 2 and was basically stood up and stopped but other offensive players pushed him into the end Zone for a TD.

I am on the fence about the play. I don't care for the play but do we really want to give the refs the ability to judge whether something is a push or not a push to help an offensive player? When a offensive player is in the middle of the pile pushing for a TD or 1st down is it always going to be easy to judge whether they are getting helped or not. I tend to like less rules and less referee interpretation of rules. Just man up and find a way to stop the play like the Chargers did against Dallas this week.

Pushing the ball carrier was prohibited in the NFL prior to the 2006 season. It was prohibited in college prior to the 2013 season. It has not resulted in an increase in injuries in college or pros so that argument is nonsense. Pulling the ball carrier is still prohibited.

I watched the Eagle run this play several times last night and I noticed that somebody always reaches under the back of Hurst shoulder pads gaining leverage and pushing him forward. Then take a look at Hurts shoulder pads; they look rather large.
I was noticing last night that Hurts was hardly pushing with his feet he was being pushed over his lineman up his back and he had two guys doing it so even if he met resistance of one guy on top it wouldn't matter. His lineman are getting a big push too. Its a technique they have and it has little to do with how much Hurts can squat.
Anyone else notice all the freaking calls going the Eagles way? These refs are horrible!

The only way to defend the tush push, is with the reverse tush push. I cant believe I just typed that. o_O

Dak hikes and then panics and falls forward. Hurts hikes it and takes his time for the guys behind him to push him. Patience is the biggest difference between the 2 plays.

That's what I said as well a few weeks ago and the posters here told me then the Eagles would throw a 80 yard bomb over there head...which is actually a play d coordinators need to be careful of. There is going to be a play this year the Eagles fake the tush push and go over the top.

I would have had Dak run a naked bootleg or something else. That was pathetic.
Tom Brady made a living by sneaking the ball on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1. And he was hardly a powerhouse rusher, skinny almost.

It's not about power, or strength, or who's pushing. There is nearly always a small gap between the defenders, for various reasons. Brady know how to find them. The Cowboys/Dak don't.

It's unstoppable for the Eagles, I don't see how any defense can stop it without getting dirty themselves and going low at the OL's legs. Meanwhile, other teams like the Cowboys need to stop copying it if they can't do it good enough. Keep the regular QB sneak in there...in fact, I think more teams should utilize the regular QB sneak on 1st down more often. You're going to surprise defenses who are anticipating the pass and you could probably pick up 4-5 easy yards to set up an easier 2nd/3rd down.
