why ban it?

other teams cant do it well for a reason...you need 5 great linemen and a QB that squats 600 plus pounds with 1 receiver and 1 hb pushing you

the Seattle Dragons in the XFL run it as well and they end up losing yardage having DiNucci sneak it

the cowboys do it and dont get much push because we're better at regular qb sneaking

its like banning a counter trey because defenses cant figure out the counter motion

you want to stop it...have your Two biggest D Tackles over the center and have a LB jump over the line and the other one converge on the qb
Exactly, you have to go over the top let them get low and then just run right over their bodies.. they’ll stop doing it

How do you stop it. You let them get low and then you run on top of them. Seriously go over the top. That’s the only way you can stop it.
You make it sound so simple… It’s not

On the Goal Line, If I were a DC, I'd instruct my guys to jump the snap every time and just pile on the center/QB. 5 yard penalty each time, but so what.

You Ban it only because you are Weak and cannot stop it! Ridiculous to even consider banning it! Give the Eagles credit, they came up with something that works that no one has been able to stop or reproduce yet. God Bless…

May be the most over rated play in the history of the league. We got 2 guys that can clog that middle....Hankins and Mazi...shoot the damn A gaps....stay low...make a pile. Kelce isn't moving 650lbs of man...just isn't happening.

That’s what I would do. But I would wait for the snap. I wouldn’t jump it.

Perhaps it was just me, but watching the game this past Sunday night, I could of swore the backs picked Hurts up by the shoulder pads lifting him up over the pile up pushing him.

Honestly couldn't believe they went for it deep in their own territory with one or so yard to go with a close score. Don't make that play and end up losing, you're going to be crucified for that decision.

End of the day, keep them longer than 2 yards on 4th down.

His feet aren’t even on the ground. You are absolutely correct they dragged him across. Watch the play again if you can.
I truly believe the second they snap the ball they’re going to go down low. Just run right over the top of them. Don’t go low go over the top put cleats right in the back.

I disagree buddy. Don’t go low. Go over the top. They’re not ready for that run right over their backs.

Watching Philly do it it doesn't appear to have much to do with pushing the QB. I see a TE Pushing Hurts that's about it. It all the offensive line getting low and blowing the defense backward. Hurts is really good at digging in, and finding the soft spot. Every week I watch a game other teams try it and don't make it. It's basically a QB sneak.

They are as good at the QB sneak as we were handing the ball to Emmett. We were rarely stopped.

No, not at all...delivery of a high amount of concentrated force and directed at knee levels is NOT a quarterback sneak scenario...get educated up.
How about I educate you. If there was so "much force directed at knee level", why don't the Eagles sustain any injuries from the play in almost two years? And if you record the tush push and watch it frame by frame, you'll understand that Hurts is more responsible for the success than the two wing pushers. This isn't shuffleboard where they slide Hurts over the top of d-lineman. Basically, you need to re-educate yourself. I wish we were as good at the play as the Eagles.
And if you are really concerned about injuries, then the NFL should ban tackling from the waist down. Most injuries in the NFL are ACL, sprains, and meniscus tears as a result of tackling. Go look it up.

My solution to the Tush Push is to have your 4 biggest/strongest Dee lineman in the A and B gaps, so they can shoot through the gaps at a low level for penetration, to neutralize Kelce.

And then take 2 more linemen (not LBs), and place them at the LB position up close in the A gaps. Then at the snap, they jump the pile and grab the QB, and try to bend him backward. Sure, the risk of QB injury will be high, with 600 or so pounds coming over the top. And all it will take is one key injury to Kelce or Hurtz because of that play, then they will choose something else. Of course, everywhere else, everyone is in man coverage, so they have to hold up on the off chance of a play action pass.

The key is you need Kelce neutralized, and 2 big boys jumping through the air to grab Hurtz.

To get the right personnel on the field, the defense may need to call a timeout. But for the entire Eagles game, I'd have these extra linemen standing near the field on the sideline with their helmets on ready to go in...because as soon as it's 4th and short (at a moment's notice), they will need to sprint onto the field to replace some combination of LBers and/or a safety. No time to sprint in from the bench area, they need to be standing and paying attention to the game...especially in the RZ.

Plus they get to take all the time they need...keep pushing the line until they get the first....1 sec. to however long needed..

Geez it's not hard to figure out why we aren't good at this it's the epitome of old school smash mouth football.

It's a play made for hard Men who want it not kitty cat frontrunners that just want to market their brand.

That's said the eagles have a quarterback that squats 600 pounds and a former rugby player who is nothing short of enormous on their offensive line along with the fact that they have analyzed and perfected this and have it down to a science so much so that they can pretty much do it anytime they ever want and get a yard when they need it.
We should probably just stick to kicking field goals in those situations it's probably a better play for us. Less chance of injury or soiling our Jersey

We all (at least the old farts like me) remember "The Refrigerator" Perry making a rushing TD in the SB, once that 375 lb mass of humanity got up a head of steam, nobody in their right mind would get in front of him.

So why don't we see that anymore? Because teams figured out a way to stop it. It'll be the same with the "Tush push", give defensives some time and they'll figure it out...
