Can You Admit You Gave Up On The Season?

I never gave up on the season I altered my expectations long ago to just making the playoffs and I believed throughout the season that we would do that.

I definitely agree with some others that I'm two steps from giving up on the NFL if the officiating doesn't improve.

The pleasant surprise of the eagles totally imploding after starting out with a dominant 10 and 1 record was completely unexpected but gives us a chance to have some home games against these good teams.

Doing what we should do against an inferior team with no reason to win does not change my expectations but the possibility of home games makes me hopeful that we can get a little further this year.

Whatever the outcome we've had a good year and some good football to watch that's all I can ask

I never give up, that’s not in my blood. I absolutely was disappointed with the 49ers and Beagles losses, but I never gave up on the team. I watched and hoped. When the Shegals started their implosion, I knew the team just had to take of their business. If we got the 5 seed, so be it, but they did what they had to do when they had to it, and here we are.
NEVER give up!

It wasn't the loss to the 9ers, or even the Eagles, but there were a few dark moments after the back to back Bills and Dolphins. I did settle for 5th place.
But this team weathered the storm clouds and grabbed the East.

What's your story.
Dallas did enough to get the division, but the real story is the eagles collapse. I will admit I didnt see them being this bad at the end of the season.
The giants, a 5-11 team dealt them the final blow this week lol.

I was sure dallas would make playoffs, but thought it would be as a strong WC. I think I predicted 11-6

Now the real question that has been looming all year is how will they do in playoffs?

The first game they get GB at home, so that isnt much of a challenge, although GB has won their last 3 games.
I expect dallas to win that.
Then we see who they get for div round , which could be at home too.

I also wonder about the other nfc teams, like is their good team going to show up or their bad team?
SF has had their ups and downs too, which SF team will be in the playoffs?
Same for the rams who also have won 4 in a row going into playoffs. They may surprise us.

The eagles lol may be 1 and done or somehow magically play good again, I have no idea.

As for the dallas game it is more of a test for GB than it is Dallas. Dallas should win , if they dont it will be embarrassing and would probably get mike
kicked out the door.

I settled for 5th, but honestly we still haven’t proven we won’t bounce off the ceiling that is the 49ers.

I’m still skeptical, but hopeful

I never gave up on the Cowboys but I did give up on dak after SF...I'm still skeptical that he can win a big game in a big moment but at least they are going to get the shot

Never doubted. Seriously. Long season. There was going to be adversity. We weathered the storm. Now let’s go grab the bill by the horns.

I settled for 2 seed after loss to Miami.

Guys, we lost #1 seed by one more conference loss. Thats it.

Head to head would not have mattered because of 3 way tie.

I wouldn’t say I gave up on the season but I did decide that I will never again buy into any hype no matter how well they are playing until they are actually holding the Lombardi after winning a super bowl. Until then, I’m just watching for entertainment and will be happy when they win and play well. When they look bad and lose, it’s not a surprise and no longer upsets me. It’s just been the same story for too long. I’m now in prove it mode.

Cowboys are exactly were I expected them to be, in the playoffs. I’m surprised that they won the division, while they did their part to win it, the Eagles falling apart the last few weeks really helped.

I can’t say that I gave up on the Cowboys but I don’t trust them. This team can win against nearly any team, as much as I feel they can loose to any team. I have pretty much been conditioned to feel that way since at least 2006.

Nearly every playoff appearance has ended with a really tough loss like the Romo bobble, The Cabo Game, Vikings blowout, both GB Games, the Rams, both SF Games, and so many win and you’re in playoff type scenarios.

The Cowboys have had a historically bad playoff run since they last won the SB. It is hard to trust them. It won’t change for me until they lift another Lombardi Trophy. It’s why guys like Steven A Smith can joke about waiting for the Cowboys to eventually fail, because history has not been on our side for nearly 30 years.

Personally, the only way I can survive being a Cowboys fan is to expect to eventually be let down. I don’t feel it makes me any less of a fan, its more about self preservation.

Gave up on the 2 seed - didn't think the Eagles would implode like this - but didn't give up on the season by any stretch of the imagination.

Now everything is setting up nicely for them to make a run. Gotta take advantage.

No I never gave up on the season I've been the one championing the it's a week to week league you never know what's gonna happen you just play out the 17 games and let the chips fall where they may....

So all the narratives once again are busted I mean those who thought that we were gonna not get back on track after back-to-back losses which doesn't happen very often which we try to inform a lot of you show me where Mike McCarthy his loss back-to-back games only twice since 2021 any almost always follows up by devastating loss with a good win...

But again, anyone betting on the NFL right now trying to figure out at the beginning of the season what the record's going to be, who's going to win what game, and why they're being completely disappointed when one of those any given Sunday happens five days a week now,

y'all are like in the dark the new NFL... it's a week to week league and it's a year to year league now. to where it doesn't matter what happened the year before and those putting together the schedules that are claiming the Eagles had a tougher schedule than us going off last year's teams this year's a whole new roster just like next year everyone's going to be scared to play so many playoff teams and got and 1st place schedules, you do not know how those teams are going to be assembled and how they're going to play you can't keep guessing just enjoy the short 17 game season because it's a long offseason...

Stop looking ahead just like for the playoffs we just need to start preparing for Green Bay and that's it I'm not looking ahead...

I don't care who's next home or away, you literally judge just week to week that is it...

I didn't because I knew there was a good chance the Eagles would lose a couple of games. I said it on this board numerous times...I thought there was a chance AZ could beat them and had a really big feeling about the Giants.

People were like....doesn't matter, the Eagles will win out after we thrashed then. I said, have you watched this team play?

At no point did I give up on the season but I knew minus winning the division and getting the 2 seed it was unlikely we’d get to the NFC title game. Just happy we got it done and the table is now set. Maybe this is the year we finally get some lucky bounces and calls go our way. Lord knows we’re due.

The only thing that's changed for me is we'll lose to SF in the NFC Championship game instead of lose to SF in the Divisional Round. That is a step in the right direction, but still falling short of the actual goal of what teams play for.

There sure are a lot of posters who aren’t being honest. After the 49’ers game, there was literally 5 or 6 of us who never gave up.
