At the beginning of the year if you told me we need to go get some so high priced free agents I would say no continue to build through the draft. However after this year we need to go sign our Haley and Sanders this offseason. Time to mortgage the future for now. We have maybe 2 years of Romo left and after that it is total uncertainty. Give me Suh and the next best available pass rusher and lets go get the trophy next year.

That's how I feel. Keep the offense intact (maybe -Murray) sign a beast on the DL then take a DL in the draft and let's go

Signing Sue means at least 4 $100 million contracts with the assumption they lock Dez up in the offseason. Romo and Tyron Smith both have $100m+ deals.

I don't know if it can really be pulled off without seriously impacting the rest of the roster.

Jerry needs to use the same approach like he did last offseason.

I don't want to be like the Saints and spend on one big free agent and get burned during the season.

Sign solid free agents who want to play and are not money driven. Build your team through the draft.

You mean do what the Bronco's did that resulted in them losing in the 1st round of the playoffs?

Broncos went and got a Old Ware. JPP, Hardy and a few other DEs are 26 and younger. FAs will be younger from here on out.

Yeah my initial knee jerk was to have the team be aggressive on free agency but now I am thinking the way I did prior to the loss. Sign some mid tier free agents (Sheard and Paea?) and continue to build through the draft.

Of course.

Going "all in" doesn't work in the NFL.

Sheard and Paea would be the bee-knees.

I'd rather have a team that is consistently 11-5 than one that is 13-3 and then goes 9-7... 5-11... 3-13.

If this needds to go to rant or merged woth something else I apologize and feel free to do so. But dont feel it is a rant

Like someone said Broncos went the Skins way and picked up old names. Peyton looks done. I am hoping we can shore up the D before Romo is done. I would love to continue through the draft but half the NFL is looking for a QB and I fear by the time we continue through the draft we will also looking for a QB.

I'll take a first round bye every year. If that's a bad year and I get bounced in the Divisional Round so be it. They went to the Super Bowl last year. so it's hard to criticize them too much.

The Broncos lost largely because Peyton probably needs to retire.

I agree on the Peyton comment, but the Broncos...erm Elway brought in superstar players to get Manning to the SB.

Because of that now the Broncos are in a tough decision because the one player they need can't hold up a full season.

The Cowboys are in the same boat if Romo goes down forever, and mortgaging the future could quickly undo what they have recently built.

The Cowboys can be right back in the playoffs if they continue to build through the draft and find FA gems like Mincey.

IMO, youth is what is missing in Denver. They paid a bunch of players and now they lack hungry guys aside from Julius and Demairyus. Its not shocking that they are their two best players because they are playing for a contract and young.

No the Bronco's went out and got TJ Ward, Demarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. Probably the best players at each position this free agency.

This and there defense didn't live up to the hype.

Denver is the prime example that trying to go all in on one season is just stupid.

Ward is a beast, Ware is old and Talib is all hype

Dallas is very young outside of Romo, Witten and JD Ladouceur

They could use some veteran studs to go with the young guys

Give me Suh and I can fill in the rest with the draft, FAs and re-signing some of our guys

Find me 3 players in the draft

I'll take one big money FA but that's about it.

Continue drafting well and the transition to the next QB should be seamless.

Exactly and there's nothing anyone can tell me otherwise.

Now understand, you can pick up a few pieces here and there but to think "Oh let's get Suh" or "Oh let's get AP". The moves don't need to be that big. Any holes on this team should be addressed with draft picks.

It happens year after year. Teams who succeed in this league do it by drafting well and having hungry players out there. Just think about it. If you have a big contract than what do you have to play for? You've already gotten your big contract. Drafting allows for you to obtain cheap players who can contribute and play hungry. Hitchens is a prime example of that.
