This.
Rolle has been average in his stint at safety since being moved from cornerback. The fact there might not be a full court press by the Cardinals should tell you a little something and make your Spagnola alarm go off. .
Yea, it tells me that the Crapdinals knew that once Warner decided to call it quits, their contending years were over so they're going into cost cutting mode.
Remember that this uncapped year works MORE for owners than players. Now teams, like the Crapdinals, are going to be able to dump contracts like Rolle's that otherwise ( because of cap reasons or because they were contending ) wouldn't consider. Fitzgerald's contract was much more cost prohibited than Rolle's and they worked it out because the Crapdinals decided to pay him. I know, I know, Fitzgerald is arguably the best receiver in football, but that hasn't stopped the Crapdinals from releasing players before in order to save money.
If my intuition was right, and it's been on the money so far about this uncapped year(s) for the past year or so, Rolle is just the biginning in terms of talent being dumped on the market.
Yesterday I was all gun ho to sign him right away and get him into camp. Today, I'm more of a " let's wait and see what the market dictates ". The reason for that is if/when teams start dumping salaries because there's no cap, the talent is going to far outweight the demand, which means the price for this players are going to drop.
That also means draft picks are going to be at a premium ( because teams doing the dumping, would want the draft picks to replace those expensive players with cheaper ones ), which, if properly maniuplated, the draft could bring back a wealth of future picks and the Cowboys don't REALLY have a glearing need to fill their roster.
