Yes, we have made some key errors that have hampered us. We just have to get a few things right and we are there, imo.

My feeling, and obviously Jerry's, is that the Eagles will struggle to keep it together after this year. This is the result of shortcutting the process and trading picks for guy who need contracts after the year or before they play for you. You can do it once or twice but then it starts to catch up. The eagles did it with Brown, Gardner Johnson, Bradford, Quinn...etc.

Quinn was the one big swing and miss so they don't want to keep him. Brown was an immediate pay, he was worth it. GJ was absolutely a great trade but now they have to pay him top S money to keep him. Bradford was a great signing but they have to pay to keep him. Not worth it at his age.

They did a bunch of this type of move that is a short term fix and long term nightmare.
I would take a trip to the SB every five years and suffer in-between. I also don't think we can guarantee any amount of wins. Our roster will have some issues this offseason too. No where near the Eagles, but I don't think we are a shoe in for 12 win season, but I hope I am wrong.

I would never trade a 4th round pick for a guy you didn't need.

This is how you would build a football team, not me.
You build football teams hording 4th round picks?

And Philly could be more aggressive with trading late round picks because over the next two drafts they have 6 picks in the first two rounds. If they want to add more picks in the draft, they can easily trade one of their two firsts this year and maybe add another 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks.

It was a low cost, low risk move. Well to anyone that isn't a Cowboys homer hell bent on trying to prove that how we do things is really as good, or almost as good, as everyone else.

Two of those super bowls....the path to it was

Matt Ryan and Chase Keenum...

and

Daniel Jones and A team that couldn't forward pass for over half the game.

While we get....

Tom Brady and a fully functioning 49ers team.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers

Etc.
They played the exact same 49ers team we did. You’re acting like it was happenstance that the QB got hurt. When in reality it was because the Eagles built literally 1 of the most dominant pass rushes the NFL has ever seen and dominated the 9ers with pressure.

And yeah when you’re the best team in the league all year you get a bye and to play the worst team left. That’s how the NFL works, has nothing to do with luck.

Some people think that fandom requires blue-colored blinders. It doesn’t.

They also think it requires lame excuses for everything the Cowboys get wrong. Also not true.

Lastly, they feel they have to try to minimize anyone else’s success. Totally false.

If you want to switch your brain off? Have at it, just keep it to yourself so the rest of us don’t have to read it.

Nope...that is the reality.

They had cakewalks to get to the super bowl while we have to beat the best of the best or eventual super bowl champs.
I don't disagree but some of this was due to blown games, or this cakewalk could have been us. Nothing we can do now but debate, but goes to show all games matter.

They hit the qb once and he tore his elbow. We hit him just as many times and nothing happened.

Ya...no luck involved there.

Sure do...so do the Cowboys.

Schwartz, Pollard are going to be two huge FAs this year...both 4th rounders.

Ferguson is going to take Schwartz's spot...yup....4th rounder.

Biadaz...4th rounder.

They were already basically proven right. They made two SBs 5 years apart in which they tore down basically the 2017 team and rebuilt quickly and still have a lot of draft fire power over the next two years. The whining over who they played is weird because they rebuilt a roster strong enough to go out there and win more games than anyone and get themselves that #1 seed and easier path to the SB. They were better than us and everyone else in the NFC over the full season. Their reward was an easier path than other teams. Maybe if Jerry and his dopey son employed some of the stuff the Eagles do in roster building, we would have won the #1 seed and had that easy path.

You really struggle with admitting reality here. They have done a significant better job at roster building/management than we have over the last 5-6 seasons.
yeah adding some good players in FA this last season could have got dallas the # 1 seed, and if they did that they might be going
to the SB.
all they needed was 1 or 2 more wins.
next season the nfc may be different .
getting that # 1 seed makes it much easier to get to SB, only 2 games and both at home.

The eagles gm did a great job, and it turned out to be a weak nfc, so eagles were the dominant team.
even if dallas had beat SF I think phil beats them in champ game.

Another pointing out the absolute nonsense propaganda that you’re trying to sell

That absolutely no one is buying.

Perhaps it’s time for you to grow up and give credit where credit is due. It’s what grownups do.

I gave plenty of credit to them. You guys are already throwing flowers at them for beating no one.

Beat KC and I will give them all the credit they deserve.

KC is a much better example as well to kiss their butt. Not the stinking Eagles.

Because they’ve already earned it, no matter how the Super Bowl goes.

This will be the 2nd time they’ve been there in 6 years. Our team hasn’t come close in 28 years now. Deal with that harsh reality.

It doesn’t matter. Everyone else can already see what they have already accomplished. And besides, given your proven track record, you’ll have some feeble excuses ready to try to minimize it.

Again, grow up.

Jerry is out in left field somewhere. This is the guy who kept Garrett for 13 years. His football acumen isn't exactly a strong suit. And pretending he knows what he's talking about in this Eagle situation is ridiculous. The guy spews crap for a living and people are on the edge of their seats waiting for the next quote.

"Long term" is a cop-out of answering any real questions, Jerry knows it. What else can he say at this point.

28 years is long term lol.
The question is which big fish FA would have gotten us over the hump and helped take us to a bowl despite Dak?

You know Purdy didn't slip on a banana peel and injure himself. Neither did his replacement. One other point, Purdy doesn't play defense either.
