I don't think he has any comp for his starting job

but he'll find himself on the bench, or moved to the 3rd rusher on 3rd downs more and more as the season moves along

I swear, it seems that statistics, for whatever reason, sometimes affect playcalling. I couldn't help thinking the pass plays were influenced by the desire to get Romo a TD pass.

Watch: even though Romo was very good tonight, all week we'll hear that he was "okay" or "decent", because he had 0 TDs.

Brett Favre had so many 1 yard TD passes in his last few years in Green Bay that it became absolutely comical. And that was while Ahman Green was one of the best RBs in football and their OL was stellar.

You just got some competition buddy.Victor Butler looks like a machine.

yea it's easy to say that but he could suck at tackling RBs, coverage, etc etc...Spencer has been pretty good don't get all excited about a guy making sacks in garbage time who's completely fresh.

Romo checked out of a called run. That pass to Martellus was on him. That was not Jason Garrett. Martellus didnt even expect the ball there.

absolutely wrong, they just showed it again on sportscenter and martellus certainly was expecting the ball.

Its time for Jerry Jones to fix the coaching problem once and for all. Yes., they won and no matter how ugly the win was, IT STILL A WIN...

The Cowboys are still have the same problem as always, Penalties, poor tackling,,,suspect play calling...And A HC that is lost...

Player that played good tonight,

BROOKINGs, awesome motivatiom, outstanding night
T-Choice ol'reliable steady emmit smith like great job
Crayton,, reliable hands, shifty moves.. very solid
Witten, simple great
Victor Butler --two of dallas' 3 sacks good job rookie

Monday night LOSERS

T newman...could not handle smith, burned again
Wade Phillips....cant motivate a team, lack of coaching ability
Garrett, Redzone play calling VERY suspect,
SPENCER did he even play tonight
WAR is not playing up to his potential,, losing contract money
Bennett, still plays like a rookie'
Felix,,,great running but always hurt, can score TDs when your on the sideline

This team reminds me of the 5-11 Campi ERA very similiar

I normally don't blame play calling due to the fact that most of the time if the players had just executed the failed play properly, there would be no complaint about play calling.

But this is absolutely insane.

If it was first and goal from the one I wouldn't so much have a problem with the first fade. But throwing a second? From the one? On third down? Come on. That's simply irrational.

Kyle Kosier was tremendous. He's playing at a pro bowl level.

Roy Williams had ok stats and dropped a TD, but he also did an outstanding job blocking. As good as I've seen here from a WR in many years.

Butler needed work on playing the run during pre-season. Has that improved?

Yeah, that's definitely something we're missing is contributions from rooks.

Brandon Williams might have a LOT of catching up to do.

I was wondering if he be playing soon in Hops of taking away some of Bobies playing time

Why are people always unhappy especially after a win. I don't care who the opponent is. To get a win in the NFL is always good no matter what. You aren't going to play flawless football every game. Sure the Cowboys have a lot of work to do but it is Week 3, not Week 13. If we are peaking in Week 3 then I don't want to know what happens the rest of the year.

To get a win at home against a bad team because they handed you the game doesnt get me all excited about the direction of this season. There are 4 or 5 NFL teams we could beat with our performance tonight, and Carolina was one of them.

This is the second time in 3 weeks we've turned in an average/below average performance against a bad football team. A team with our talent level shouldnt be letting team slike Tampa Bay and Carolina hang around until the 4th quarter.

Victor Butler for his play at the end.

The RB's and O-line for the run-blocking.

Defense for stepping up tonight....much better play than the previous two weeks. Alot fewer yards allowed tonight.

See, I told all y'all there'd be a legitimate reason to criticize Garrett soon enough. He called a great game tonight, but those two calls from the one were ridiculous.

I could give him one, maybe, and Roy should've came down with it. But twice? just dumb

Hard to argue most of it. Spencer not providing solid rush leaves Ware doubled. Denver game will be telling. I thought it would be easy win but Mc Daniel has them believing.

I'm watching his interview right now... he impresses me not only on the football field, but he's a good interview as well. Sounds really confident and upbeat. I love it! We're blessed to have 3 good, solid RBs. He gets a game ball from me for sure. :starspin
