CFP thread

And your take is never worth a bucket of warm spit
I responded with FACTS.
You responded with FEELINGS.

Once you resort to FEELINGS instead of FACTS, you have lost the argument.

Move along.

IDK, man, 133 teams in DIV 1. It would seem more practical to have 24 out of that number.
I'm baffled the SEC has an issue with it. They have almost the entire month of December off and the SEC title game doesn't need to happen anymore since they got rid of the divisions.

Looking at this year alone, how many playoff teams didn't win their conference champ games? How many didn't even make it? Mia, for one.

The conference champ games are completely meaningless. If they're not going to help determine playoffs, why have them? Replace them w/ playoff games, it's just that simple.

Do you grasp the very basic concept that Oregon had the same ticket allotment? Probbably not since you are resorting to quoting sports ladies. lol

Back to the basement, dbag
sports ladies?? LOL.
You mean a credentialed reporter who at the actual game?

the stink of jethro is a bit too strong on you.

Because you are clueless and do not pay attention. I already explained it.
The SEC has an issue with it because ESPN doesn't want it.

ESPN has and wants to retain sole right to the CFP and cannot afford more games.
They already offload the games with NFL time slots to TNT at a loss.

TAMU was not the best.
Miami hasn't won a title yet.

Oregon lost 2 regular season games in 2 years. Notre Dame lost 2 regular season games in 2 weeks.

If you want to play Oregon, then schedule them. But they were far more impressive as a 1 loss Big 10 team than ND was as a 2-loss independent absent ANY final top 20 wins.
I will easily grant you that Notre Dame was probably better than their body of work but that is all we have to judge teams on. and ND opted out of the Pop Tarts Bowl versus BYU which would have told us a lot.
Your body of work determines your ranking.

What's clear is that your angst should be directed at Fox and ESPN for refusing to get to 16 teams last year. Not with teams who had better resumes.
Season results are what is important
bowl games are quite often meaningless but then you like to use things like that SO
now last year who made it to the NC game? Was not Oregon was it? so using last year does not work to well for you does it?

Now this year

Oregon beat who?

USC, Iowa and an PSU that while rated at the time turned out to be what?
And they lost to Illinois a much worse lost then ND had.

in the playoffs they did beat TT but got DESTROYED by Indiana

Oh whatever dude. I was at the "actual game". But you didn't have to be to see that the crowd was almost all IU. She said nothing about the poor Oregon turnout so I'm not sure how that supports anything you have said.

How do you think you end up with a 90% pro-Indiana crowd? Oregon apparently put their ticket allotments on reseller sites and few fans were interested in the general public allotment online. That's how you end up with 90% Indiana filling MBS stadium. Any excuse you want to make, it was a pathetic showing by their fanbase. If this had been TT, OSU, Michigan or ANY SEC school, it would have been a 50/50 crowd or closer to it, regardless of how many IU fans wanted to attend.

Why the heck should I "pay attention" to or give any credence to any of your theories? You're just some redneck on a chat board with no inside information. This particular theory makes no sense. More games means more revenue. So, if ESPN doesn't want it, it's got nothing to do with their ability to afford it.

Wonder if Miami may throw a similar number at Leavitt or if they backed off that ticket and are hoping Ty will transfer instead of go pro?

The only benefit to CC games were if they were the sole determination for byes for the P4 conferences.
But since byes are based off a top 4 ranking then I agree.

Crazy how colleges are now almost competitive with NFL on keeping a guy in school.
The next foot to drop is the case playing out now with the Ole Miss QB suing the NCAA for eligibility. Why should the NCAA deny eligibility to anyone as long as they are taking classes at the school? 4, 5, 6 years...... the eligibility rules are arbitrary which is exactly the sort of rules courts have been striking down. I think we are headed toward career college athletes.
