Chad Jackson Grade: 4.34 Position: WR
Class: Jr
School: Florida
Conference: Southeastern
Ht., Wt.: 6-1, 213
40 Time: 4.35
Selected by: New England Patriots
Round 2, pick 4 (36 overall)

BIO: Moved into a full-time starting position last season, producing career-best numbers of 88/900/9 and winning All-Conference honors. Started three games as a sophomore, posting 29/648/6.

POSITIVES: Athletic receiver slowly developing a complete game. Uses his frame to shield away opponents, adjusts to the errant throw and extends to make the reception away from his frame. Sturdy receiver who gets airborne and pulls the pass from a crowd or takes a pounding then holds onto the ball. Has the speed to beat defenders down the sidelines.

NEGATIVES: Must improve his route-running skills. Gets marginal results blocking.

ANALYSIS: A terrific prospect with an ever-improving game, Jackson showed signs of dominance as a junior then went on to have an outstanding combine. Moved himself into the first 30 selections and could develop into a No. 1 receiver at the next level.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever said that the 2006 WR draft class was weak was right. Turns out that Marquis Colston (7th round) and Brandon Marshall (4th round) were the class of that draft. Santonio Holmes (1st round) is doing well for himself and I believe Austin will cement himself as a star by the end of the season.
anyway, back to Jackson, it appears he is just a slow learner. I believe he has the talent to be a star down the line, but he just needs time. I hope he clears waivers and signs with the Cowboys.
I'll tell you what, based on the negatives listed here, TO and Sherman could potentially mold this guy into an elite receiver.

These issues are definitly fixable.

Jerry the salesman is great for cowboy fans but jerry the gm/head coach is killin the cowboys roster. There will be no trade for those sorry backup linemen and those dbs who looked all pro v brad n bartell. Jerry got suckerd again!

I'm with you guys. Jerry go get this guy and take a chance. He does have size and speed that we need and he is young. Just might need a change to find his way.

No thanks guys, a stiff.

Didn't Jerry Jones say he wouldn't bring in an outside WR? I don't know how much to believe of that but who knows. I did like Chad Jackson coming out of college though.
