Ok........Productive is no reason to give 8 MILLION per season for 5 years. Top 10 is NO REASON to give 8 million per season for 5 years.

In my opinion, Murray was absolutely not worth anything close to that. 5 million possibly for 3 year tops?

When Murray ran for 1800 yards and it over inflated his value, he was done in Dallas. Its also not just Murray, it is the RB position in general.

He was productive without a great line. He ran for 251yards in his first start.

He was real good with a real good line in 2013. 1500yds and 10 TDs

He was AP POY in 2014 with a great line.

5m for 3 years is a low ball offer.

Umm............now way. NONE of our backs have PROVEN to be REALLY GOOD backs. Where are you getting this nonsense from?

"The last couple of days in camp"? Did you really just say that?

Yep. I said that. I based this off all the reports out of training camp that they have been exploiting the holes for big gains. Randle has been doing it all camp minus a couple of days, and McFadden has been doing the last couple of days he's been practicing. Every beat writer out there has been commenting on how great they both look.
And I know most people will choose to overlook what Randle has done for us in limited chances, but his college performance is undeniable.
And I'm not ready to give up on McFadden bc he's been stuck on one of the sorriest teams of the last decade. The guy was once touted as the next Bo Jackson, so I'll give him a chance to run behind an OL that the oft-injured Murray had the "honor" to run behind too.

It's great to see another voice of reason in this conversation!

When you see certain players over the years who constantly are plagued by hamstring it is not hard to figure out. I don't say it as a knock on McFadden he is not out looking to have hamstring issue nor was Miles Austin. heck Austin changed his workouts, he diet all in an effort to prevent it yet it still continues to be an issue for him.

I think if McFadden can avoid the hamstring for the season he has a chance to do something positive right now that is what I'm hoping for.

I think we're all hoping for it, but based on his 7-year track record, I don't trust him to do it. And this team relying on him scares me. I don't want to see a championship season derailed because their faith was misplaced.

Just like you refuse to look at 2013 when he absolutely struggled when given 2 starts.

And you can stop bringing up his college career. Brandon Weeden also had a great career at OSU.

I agree it is a concern of mine as well but he is here so all I can do as a fan is hope for the best. He will have the OL, the QB and passing game, the rest is on him. I get caught on the fence, I have no ill feelings towards the man Darren McFadden and think there is talent there but as you mentioned their is history there that can't be ignored

Lol.. Conveniently overlooking things yourself I see..
2013- Randle was a rookie and our OL wasn't the 2014 OL. Next....

And trying to compare the QB position to the RB position is comparing apples to oranges. A RBs talent is one of the easiest skill positions to translate to the NFL, hence the overall downplay of the position over the last decade. Nice try. Next comment.

Question: was Dallas's faith in oft-injured Murray misplaced last year? Nope. "Trust the process" sir

Those are weak excuses. You just can't shrug off things that don't fit your agenda.

You are a Kool-aid pumper, which is fine. Just don't demand people share your vision.

One side of your mouth you say he is a rookie but then with the other side you say RB translates the easiest. Which is it?

4 years is not equal to 7 years. 29 games missed is not equal to 11 games missed. 1 thousand yard season in 7 years is not equal to 2 thousand yards seasons in 4 years.

I wish people would stop making themselves look foolish by in any way trying to compare the two players as if they're in any way equal.

He's just not good at it.

Nobody really knows if Chaz Green can help us or not. 91st pick in this year's draft, so it's hard to expect too much right away.
Sure hope so eventually.

I would expect anyone selected in the top 100 to at least compete. Xavier Cooper is tearing it up in Browns camp, & he went 96th overall. THAT is who we should have taken-a 300 lb. DT who is cat quick & has room to get 10 lbs. heavier. This team will never be a top 10 defense until it can dominate the interior LOS. Cooper is going to be special. Haven't seen anything from Green yet, but we were much more set at OT than DT going into the 3rd rd. in April.

I don't know that to be the case nor do I know if Randle is even capable of handing that type of work load. I like Randle and was glad on draft day when we picked him up. I felt he was more of a role player than a workhorse. He now has a chance to go out and show what he can do. I hope the best for him.

My point is just about any solid back playing all 16 games could lead the league in rushing behind this line given 400 carries.

Productive doesnt do much more me. You want big money, you have to be GREAT and GREAT for at least 3 years in a row.

Look good doing what? Taking a handoff the last two days?

This has to be the biggest reach ever.
