Why in the world would they trade such a good back as LJ. Doesn't make any sense to me. There's gotta be some kind of problem and I doubt it's their unwillingness to pay him the big bucks. Hmm. First they willing get rid of Trent Green and now maybe LJ. Who they going to get rid of next, Tony Gonzales?
OK they just resigned Gonzo and Trent Green is DONE. On to LJ..........here is the deal.......they simply are cheap and don't want to pay him. He is going into the last year of his deal. KC knows how much S. Alexander signed for and LJ wants more than that. Carl Peterson isn't going to give him that much $$$. Unless the Chefs trade LJ this year, they will lose him in free agency next year. My guess is KC thinks they can get more for LJ now by trading him rather than wait and see what compensation the league gives for losing him in free agency. Herm is a defensive coach and word is that he isn't in LJ's corner on this one. Everybody up here hasn't pushed the panic button yet. But they are looking for it.

Actually, there is MUCH more than not meeting LJ's contract demands. I will have to do a search to find what it was exactly, but LJ's attitude and other actions made the Chiefs second guess whether or not it would be worth the risk of paying him all that money with the issues they had with them. Again, I don't recall exactly what the issues were, but they seemed to be very valid to the point that I would question having him on the Boys as well. If someone else knows what I am talking about...go ahead and post if I don't post sooner.

Well, so far, I came up with the following, but can't find the exact article that hit the nail on the head:

- Has a bad attitude in lockerroom, not the most favorite player on his team, racially charged comments made.
- Negative comments against his head coach.
- Arrested for domestic abuse twice

The writers in kc, particularly jason whitlock think he is going to be the next T.O. and not in a good way, in the crazy always having some kind of drama going on. I think the chiefs are scared to give him his money because of that.

Apparenty he hangs out with rappers 24/7 and wants to be one and players on the team according to whitlock have warned the coaches as soon as he gets his money he is going to be uncontrollable.

Apparently whitlock thinks he is not well liked and is a bit of a cry baby with a bad attitude.

Life as a Cowboy fan during Jerry's stint has taught me one thing,.. NEVER Say Never, anything is plausable. All that glitters is shiny and that's what Jerrah likes.

And yea, there could be concerns in KC about him, but is Kansas City anything like the city of Dallas? We've dealt with this stuff before, we're currently dealing with it, and we'll be dealing with it long after Herms gone from KC and the next bunch of management happens there. That's currently why we have Hill. This could be currently why there are so many "trade JJ" rumors flying around. As closely knit as these two managements atleast used to be, we could've known about this possibility for quite some time now. And lets not forget about our former interest in this exact same player a couple years ago. Even Parcells eye was on him and that was even when the sky seemed to be the limit for JuJo and our concerns were vastly limited.

This guy in a Star could be one of the best moves we could make. Could topple the signing of TO in the grand scheme of things. I'll say it again, we can leap bounds by going from mediocre to exceptional at that one position if the right guy was found- we can do that overnight. A top 5 RB starring us in the face now. What do we do?

A few years back wasn't there a rumor that Dallas almost traded Antonio Bryant for LJ?

I remember watching a segment about LJ and everything you said regarding Whitlock's concerns is right on point. I would wonder about the possibility of bringing him here and him actually behaving under Wade. If Bill were still here then I wouldn't be so worried. Not that I miss Bill... Don't get that impression. I really wouldn't want to see Parcells or LJ working for the Cowboys at any time in the future.

LJ on their mind?

Chiefs appear to be planning to draft a running back to back up or replace Johnson.

The Kansas City Star

Maybe the Chiefs are truly concerned about Larry Johnson’s welfare. Perhaps it’s a sign they believe he is ready to hold out or they’re preparing to trade him.
Or it could be just something as simple as the Chiefs doing their predraft homework.
Whatever the reason, they met this week at Arrowhead Stadium with at least four of the higher-profile running backs available in the coming draft: California’s Marshawn Lynch, Ohio State’s Antonio Pittman, Florida State’s Lorenzo Booker and Louisville’s Kolby Smith.
Oklahoma’s Adrian Peterson, widely considered the top running back available in the draft, did not visit with the Chiefs this week. Neither did some of the other top runners, including Arizona’s Chris Henry, Auburn’s Kenny Irons, Penn State’s Tony Hunt and Alabama’s Kenneth Darby.
The Chiefs were unavailable Thursday to speak about their motives. But the agents for all of the players said the Chiefs told them they planned to draft a running back in an early round.
“They’ve put that out there,” said Smith’s agent, Jerrold Colton. “They said they want the running-back duties shared a little more to save the wear and tear on (Johnson).”
That part makes sense. Johnson was the busiest NFL back ever last season when he set a league record with 416 carries, and coach Herm Edwards has said he would like to reduce the burden on Johnson.
Edwards also indicated recently there was a good chance the Chiefs would draft another running back.
The puzzling part is that the Chiefs are looking at some premier backs. Lynch probably will be selected by the time the Chiefs make their first pick, 23rd in the first round. Pittman is a likely second-round selection.
Booker and Smith, though, could be available in the latter half of the seven-round draft.
The Chiefs have an accomplished backup to Johnson in Michael Bennett. He didn’t help them much last year, mainly because of injuries.
But he once rushed for more than 1,000 yards with Minnesota. The Chiefs like that he’s fast and that he’s a good complement to Johnson.
Johnson and the Chiefs have worked on a new contract that would give him a raise, but they don’t have an agreement yet. Johnson has not threatened to hold out if he doesn’t get a new deal and has been participating in the offseason workout program.
The Chiefs also might be willing to trade Johnson if the right trade offer came along.

Honestly, I don't think we will get LJ, but with the Chiefs and Johnson not having yet reached an extension yet, it is worth speculation that the Cowboys would/could be interested in him. We might have to give away our 1st overall pick ( or first day pick with player-package deal), which I don't think the boys' would want to do, but we definetely have the possibility because we adressed our needs in FA, maybe Jerrah would think that he won't need those high picks this year... We wouldn't use LJ nearly as much as he was used under Herm (hopefully), but we could still pound the ball inside with a big, durable back 20 times a game to take some pressure off of Romo.

What do you guys think?

KC letting LJ go is almost as ridiculous as SD letting LT go. If you want to piss off your fan base, let your best player walk because you don't want to pay him...idiocy. This is crap...no way KC will even talk trade.

No way do you want someone like that. If BP had heartburn with TO, he would stroke out with LJ. A malcontent thug like that- does not matter how much ability he has he ain't worth it. WIth TO here we got all the circus we can handle NOW.

Wow! That is huge news before the draft. If I am Dallas Trade JJ and give the #22 pick for him.:starspin

that report has nothing about LJ been traded, it's just a reporter saying Chiefs looking to add picks and trying to start a rumor by throwing LJ name in to, but he also says their trying to lock LJ up long term....

Is it lock up long term or trade.........
