LOL! What? Nope they get people fired every day. Always have, always will.

That was cut and pasted from part of my response. Read the whole response. Garrett wasn't fired due to a variety of factors, which go beyond "the results".

I really can't help but LOL at the posters in here lauding Lurie for being a "real" owner, who "demands results" and "has standards". They're one of the most pitiful franchises EVER, and still have zero trophies even under his all-of-the-sudden superior guidance. Please.

Not everything has to be about Garrett and/or Jerry and why you think one or both should be fired.

So please don't try to make this, about that.

Right and not making excuses trying to cover up the "why"

You do realize that if we had had a good coach for the last 5 years we prob win the division and go to the playoffs 4 out of 5 seasons?

I disagree. I think we had a historically bad defense for two of those years. We had a terrible team when he took over. 8-8 might have been a good record considering all the problems we had. Then we go 12-4 last year (same coaches). We go 4-11 minus a few key players.

Living off of past glories is one way to become complacent. I prefer a sense of urgency rooted in the present.

Or in Lurie's case, history keeps repeating itself. Hire coach. Lose. Fire coach. Hire coach. Lose. Fire coach. Rinse and repeat.

The problem in Dallas are that "the simple minded" are having a problem comprehending the results. A dry hole is apparently no longer easy to identify.

See what happens when you are quick to fire a coach after 1 losing season (Andy Reid)? But yeah, Eagles got it all figured out.

A dry hole is easy to identify but harder to fix if you don't know why.

Results are for the simple minded. Explanation is multi-factorial and requires someone who can understand that there are many reasons why an outcome is what it is. With all due respect.

Results get you hired and fired from almost every industry. Dont make your sales goals, gone. Simple minded or not. its the real world in a competitive field

Chip may very well land on his feet. The Titans were 2-14 last year and are 3-12 so far this year. They need to do something, and pairing up Mariota with Chip just might bring some energy to a team that is unwatchable right now, IMO. (I get all of their games.) The Titans really have nothing to lose, and they are playing with an interim coach.

But performance as a coach is based on numerous factors including the team playing hard for him despite being the walking wounded. Thus, he is not getting fired this year. Sorry guys.:muttley:
