You said it all when you claimed you'd have no doubt they would be 2-0 against Kelly if Romo wasn't injured. The Cowboys would have been 2-0 if Garrett wasn't coaching either and Romo was still QB.

Chip won a crappy division that required he beat nobody of significance, which he didn't.

Romo's injury won the division for Philly. Kyle Orton almost beat them for gawd's sake.

You mean the same division the Cowboys play in?

There were a couple things I noticed yesterday if Tony would have done ESPN would have explode: the pass Brady threw blindly that got intercepted when they were headed to the end zone (I've seen Tony throw a couple of those ... proof in point it happens to the best of them).

RGIII is getting all kinds of excuses about being young and not having learned how to play in the NFL yet. But the way I recall it, he was the best thing to happen to the the Skins since the forward pass. He was ready to turn the NFL upside down. So now he has to learn the game? Get outta here. Let's not even talk about Eli. Bottom line, Tony would neverrrr get away with some of the stuff these QBs got away with yesterday.

RG3 is getting trashed in DC... They aren't sparing him at all and are chanting Colt McCoy's name..

Are you going to change your sig when we make the playoffs?

You mean Jason Garrett getting demoted to essentially walk-around HC proves that Garrett is a great HC? How about when you change your signature to one that says Jason Garrett sucked as a play-caller and needed to be demoted?

It's hard for me to have a good opinion of that Chip Kelly coached team after watching the beat down that Green Bay handed them yesterday. I didn't see the Packers do anything the Cowboys can't do. I don't fear the iggles what so ever. Mr Butt Fumble can't bet us. I welcome playing that team twice and claiming the division crown that rightfully belongs to us. Go Cowboys.

Aaron Rodgers put up around 50 the last week. He's thrown 18 TDs and O INTs at home and is playing out of his mind. He is totally destroying teams right now. If I was playing Aaron Rodgers in the play-offs right now, I'd be worried.

He is the HC he sits in on all meetings, he has a say with his coordinators and assistant coaches. Being demoted sure you can say he was relieved of play calling yet play calling is not what HC is all about. Garrett has much more time to over see all aspects of this team and does.

It was clearly the main issue with this team and the reason Garrett was hired in the first place and the duty that Garrett did not want to give up;

I don't know if you understand my question.

I just think it'll look funny when we go to the playoffs and beat a team or two and you have a sig (and pretty much every post) dedicated to trashing the HC.

I like the enthusiasm and team spirit. But, to be fair, Kelly is working with Mark Sanchez. Nobody can win with Mark Sanchez in general let alone on a frozen tundra.

Mission Viejo High School won a state championship with Mark Sanchez.

Pete Carroll went 12-1 and beat Penn State in the Rose Bow with Mark Sanchez.

The New York Jets won four playoff games in Sanchez's rookie and second seasons, making the AFC championship game both years. Sanchez became the fourth QB in League history to win his first playoff game and the second to win his first two.

I'm not a Sanchez lover. I hope he loses every game he plays in Philly--badly. But the only place he hasn't won is NY, and he had historically good success there too. I think it remains to be seen how good an NFL QB Mark Sanchez is. He's only played for Rex Ryan and two games for Chip Kelly. From my view, Ryan's NYJ look like a team where QB's go to die. Kelly and his system look ultra QB friendly. So we'll see. The statement that "nobody can win with Mark Sanchez," though, is empirically and emphatically false.

As for Garret, is it really his approach we are watching unfold this season? He never wanted to give up play calling duties. That is a concession Jerry forced him into making.

How do you know? Media reports?

Was it garret's idea to scrap the 3-4 and hire Kiffin?

Maybe. I don't know. Do you?

I know Garret is only one voice among many in the war room. So, what we are actually seeing is a stew of a lot of different people. None of the relative success we have enjoyed this year would be happening without Marinelli

Does Garrett get none of the credit for assembling the "stew of different people" who help make all these decisions? When did delegating and listening to other knowledgable people become a negative for a head coach?

and the new play calling strategy of Linehan which looks nothing like anything garret had been running since he arrived in Dallas back in 2007.

Actually, Garrett has said from the beginning that he wants to run the football and use a play-action passing game. He just hasn't done it. The media reported that the Linehan hire, which almost everyone in the world laughed at, was all Garrett. Interestingly enough, Linehan was a pass happy OC before he joined Garrett's staff.

As for December, Garret's team's have folded every december so far as a head coach. So, that part of your post is pure wishful thinking at this point. It hasn't happened yet.

They'll be plenty of time to celebrate and shake the pom pons when this team actually accomplishes something. But right now it is way premature to celebrate anything more than the last W.

Can't argue against any of that. I just prefer to hope instead of hate. But everybody's different.

Yes he hired as an OC to begin with he was promoted to HC, as Johnson himself had said early on it would be better for Jason to be the HC not both HC and Coordinator. As HC he has the responsibility over the entire team not one side of the ball or the other. He is involved with all aspects of the team that is the job of the HC. Just it was Jimmy job when he was here and just as it was Switzer job when he was here. You can demean Garrett all you want that is your gig and would be lost without it so whatever floats your boat. There is 1 HC in Dallas his name is Jason Garrett.

BS.

Jerry Jones said Garrett did not want to call plays when he became head coach but he, JERRY, said no. Garrett was not only willing to give it up, he never wanted to do it after becoming HC.

This board is just nuts sometimes. You have a guy who took over a team when it was 1-7 if memory serves right. He is in his 4th season, we are 7-3, the team is largely rebuilt, and he never had a losing season while completely turning the roster over. We are younger, better, and getting results, and you still have people around here acting like he's an idiot. Silly.

I understand the theory behind the up-tempo offense, but it appears to me that unless you score and play defense, all you accomplish is tiring out your own defensive players. I mean, running plays quickly keeps the opposing defense from substituting, so there may be some advantage in that, But if your defense doesn't stop the opposing offense, all you do is carve out game time for the other team to eat up. (Something we're great at!) I'd love to see how Kelly's offense does at "regular" speed.

I agree. I think using hurry up at times is a benefit but not something I would want to do throughout the game.

Didn't Chip make the playoffs in his first season? We're on the 4 year plan...

Give him 4 years and see where they are. I bet trophy cases will still be empty.
Many 1st year coaches make the playoffs.

Even Andy Reid took a bad KC team from 2012, last year to the playoffs.

Give Kelly all the injuries Dallas had the past 2 years and see what he can do.
