I like the enthusiasm and team spirit. But, to be fair, Kelly is working with Mark Sanchez. Nobody can win with Mark Sanchez in general let alone on a frozen tundra.
Mission Viejo High School won a state championship with Mark Sanchez.
Pete Carroll went 12-1 and beat Penn State in the Rose Bow with Mark Sanchez.
The New York Jets won four playoff games in Sanchez's rookie and second seasons, making the AFC championship game both years. Sanchez became the fourth QB in League history to win his first playoff game and the second to win his first two.
I'm not a Sanchez lover. I hope he loses every game he plays in Philly--
badly. But the only place he hasn't won is NY, and he had historically good success there too. I think it remains to be seen how good an NFL QB Mark Sanchez is. He's only played for Rex Ryan and two games for Chip Kelly. From my view, Ryan's NYJ look like a team where QB's go to die. Kelly and his system look ultra QB friendly. So we'll see. The statement that "nobody can win with Mark Sanchez," though, is empirically and emphatically false.
As for Garret, is it really his approach we are watching unfold this season? He never wanted to give up play calling duties. That is a concession Jerry forced him into making.
How do you know? Media reports?
Was it garret's idea to scrap the 3-4 and hire Kiffin?
Maybe. I don't know. Do you?
I know Garret is only one voice among many in the war room. So, what we are actually seeing is a stew of a lot of different people. None of the relative success we have enjoyed this year would be happening without Marinelli
Does Garrett get none of the credit for assembling the "stew of different people" who help make all these decisions? When did delegating and listening to other knowledgable people become a negative for a head coach?
and the new play calling strategy of Linehan which looks nothing like anything garret had been running since he arrived in Dallas back in 2007.
Actually, Garrett has said from the beginning that he wants to run the football and use a play-action passing game. He just hasn't done it. The media reported that the Linehan hire, which almost everyone in the world laughed at, was all Garrett. Interestingly enough, Linehan was a pass happy OC before he joined Garrett's staff.
As for December, Garret's team's have folded every december so far as a head coach. So, that part of your post is pure wishful thinking at this point. It hasn't happened yet.
They'll be plenty of time to celebrate and shake the pom pons when this team actually accomplishes something. But right now it is way premature to celebrate anything more than the last W.
Can't argue against any of that. I just prefer to hope instead of hate. But everybody's different.
