Man, I am amazed at how many players you have in your draft that I also have.
I too feel the need for a guy like Dre Moore to eventually take over for Fergi. He is a strong, penetrating NT who fits the Phillips' attack mode. Then there's Brian Johnston. I can't believe more people aren't talking about this guy. He reminds me of a poor man's Chris Long. The guy is 6-5, 285, 4.75, yet with guns like the US Saratoga or something. His TFLs & QPs each year are off the charts. The fact he whooped butt at the Hula Bowl confirms to me he can play w/the big boys. I was debating between CJ & Jamaal Charles until the Combine, then it was a no brainer. Here is my draft to date:

1-22-Dominique Cromartie
1-28-Chris Johnson
2-61-Andre Caldwell
3-92-Dre Moore
4-122-Josh Barrett
5-155-Zach Bowman
6-186-Brian Johnston
7-217-Shannon Boatman

Man Andre Caldwell put up numbers at Florida I was defintley debating between him and Devin but the 4.34 from devin put him ahead for me. I'm not sure if DRC will be there but if our draft tturns out like your mock i would be happy =)

Why does he need to in those clips? The endzone is north on the football field, not on the sidelines. ;)

thank you.. why make a horizontal cut when you can just beat everyone to the endzone:D

Look at the return at 2:30. He slows down, gathers himself, and takes 3-4 steps to change directions. I think that's what Theogt is talking about, though I wouldn't discount him as much as Theogt does for that issue.

I don't get it. I just saw a player outrun everyone else to the End Zone. That's all I want a player to do. I don't care if he does it because he's "shifty", "nifty", or because he's faster than anyone else on the field.

All I know is that Chris Johnson led the entire NATION in all-purpose yardage. OGT is wrong. The back we bring in is not supposed to replace MBIII if he goes down, he's supposed to compliment him during a game--like JJ WAS supposed to do. Jones was supposed to be the guy who can "take it to the house" that MBIII supposedly wasn't. When you lead all of big-time college football in yardage gained, then it means you run, return, & receive very well. You're not great at any one area, just real good at all three. You can teach him better moves, how to catch better, etc., but you can't teach speed. Speed kills, and we need as much of it as we can get.

Of course, if OGT wasn't being critical, he wouldn't be OGT.

This is just the guy we need to improve our return game, give MBIII a rest & the defense a different look, and stretch the field. A guy with that kind of speed has to be respected every time he's on the field. He can line up in the backfield, out wide, go out & catch the ball in the flat. He will take pressure off of the WRs, because he is faster than any one of them, and put pressure on the defense.

Bottom line-he will keep opposing defensive coordinators up the night before the games trying to figure out how they are going to stop another weapon in our arsenal.

:bravo: Winner :D

I agree that some people are in love with his speed, DaBoys4Life is taking it to levels of ridiculousness that most people aren't.

But equal to his level of blind adoration is your level or reasonless doubt.

Rack i know you put a ton of stock into production over measurables. i respect that and I remember you sticking by your guns on Pollack a couple of years ago.

He played very well until he got hurt.

That being said, its not like Johnson doesnt have production in college.

He ran for over 1400 yards last year on 6 YPC. He caught the ball almost 40 times for over 500 yards.

Its not like people are judging him purely on that 4.27 40 time. Thats just icing on the cake.

If I am going for the change of pace type I want this guy over Felix Jones everysingle day. I still personally like Mendenhall, Stewart, Rice before this guy but hes still very good.

Let's see we have a speed rb who doesn't make a horizontal cut in the entire video but I have seen arguements that he bounces everything to the outside.
Mayock has him as his top 5 to 6 rb in the entire draft.
No one who knows anything about football, has his him sliding past the early 2nd round.
Speed is what will get this kid drafted higher instead of later.

Man your are so misguided its not even funny and i love the way you talk over the net but thats cool either way people get a different feel over the net. I could see if he didn't lead the NCAA in all purpose yards last year than it would be blind adoration or if he was projecting in the 6th or 7th round if he didn't have over 500 yards reciving and 500 + in kick returns and 20+ TD's. I'm sorry the guy put up numbers you guys fail to realize this and reject him because of his speed whereas i accept him and see how much of a great asset that could be

He has no shiftiness to him whatsoever. Despite his other eye-popping straight ahead numbers, he wasn't even in the top 10 in the 3-cone for running backs. This guys will bust so hard. You don't get far running straight forward in the NFL as a running back.

Witness Tyson Thompson!

However, I did see some shiftiness in the video and more importantly, good balance. He bounced off several tacklers. I'm hoping for Mendenhall, but I wouldn't cry if we took Johnson.
