I don't think that is possible.

Bosa, Nkemdiche and Spence are just a few of the top guys that are coming into the league with baggage.

Hardy became the punching bag after RRice went away but he doesn't deserve half the vitriol he has recieved. Too many people see an easy target and have piled on.

Yep. I'm sure Hardy would've been considered a saint if we were winning last year. He had a few dumb tweets and there were rumors he was late to meetings. I really don't see all this drama people are saying he created in Dallas.

He was our most productive pass rusher. His 6 sacks in 12 games wasn't All Pro but it wasn't bad.

I just hate eating all the bad PR and NOW walking away when things are in our favor.

I agree. I think Chris Long gives us another Mincey. A veteran who can step up if we have no other options and who can rotate with younger guys. I don't see him being a big contributor. Hardy is a special talent in this league. And we have thev opportunity to get him for another 1-year fairly cheap deal. It's a no brainer to me. And it'll give us a year to evaluate Gregory.

Funny how no one appears to be ringing Hardy's phone. That could be a good sign for a cheap resign if it's something we think we can handle.

A great sign because I believe he will make a point this year. We will get money's worth out of him and then some if we can sign him.

Chris Long is precisely the kind of guy that teams that are competing for the Super Bowl pick up - he's a hard worker, has good character, knows how to play the game, and has been good against both the run and pass in his past.

For a team with a lot of question marks, he's precisely the kind of guy that you don't sign - over 30 years old, declining production, recent injury history. I would pass on him.

A lot of that drama was brought on by Mincey saying he wasn't a good teammate. Which is funny because Mincey was vying for a contract with Dallas. So is it not in his "character" to throw another teammate under the bus to make sure he gets the contract and not the other guy?

I noticed that, too. If most of the negative publicity he received was a result a Dallas record last year (as someone suggested a few posts above), it seems like a strong competitor would be all in favor of the signing the guy. If winning would have made Hard a, "saint", why doesn't a winner bring him on board?

You have some sort of financial stake in whether or not the media talks favorably about Dallas? You must because that's pretty much the only way I could see anyone caring about this issue. Also, what exactly is in Dallas' favor and what is the significance of it?

Just an odd thing to worry about and particularly with this team. Is the media traditionally kind to Dallas? I've heard of the evil media bias but I didn't know it was a favorable bias. Fear not, good Sir. Dallas does plenty of things that bring positive PR to the club so I don't think they'll suffer in the long run to an extent that makes Greg's return all that appetizing. They do lots of stuff and just in case you aren't aware, I've heard rumors that Jerry's wife Gene Jones is one hell of a decorator. It's probably a lesser known fact but she's responsible for all that wonderful art at the stadium. Little shocked that the broadcasters don't make a greater effort to get that bit of info out during Dallas games.

I guess you don't have any friends and never watch TV. I live in Maryland so my friends are all Commanders, Ravens and Eagles fans. A trifecta of blowhards.

For me, I hate having to talk about some bs gold digger case every time someone mentions the Cowboys.

I think Hardy will help this team win and think it is lazy and cowardly to treat him like a criminal that doesn't deserve a chance to play in this league.

A small salary with low guarantees for a player with Hardy's talent would help DAL win. That is the kind of PR I want. I couldn't give a crap about Gene's artwork. Maybe they do in your circles.

Orginally he was, but North Carolina courts overturned it. Sounds like a pay off to me, but like another poster said, no need to rehash old arguments. Hardy is just not for me.

No, there was no payoff. NC just has a whack way of treating misdemeanor offenses. The original conviction is only to decide if it goes to a real trial. All of those convictions are tossed when the person appeals.

And you think that this will go away if Hardy is brought back? You'll hate it just as much next season, won't you? Why would it change in year 2, and if it does change then who really cares? If nobody talks about it in 2016 (the year we live in), why does it matter if Dallas was lambasted for it in 2015?

The ridicule you got from your friends is the reason you bring Hardy back? Basically, you personally have too much of an emotional investment at this point to move on without giving Hardy just one more chance to justify the support you've given him with his play on field? Haha, okay.

Don't want to rehash the issue with your friends then here's a thought......don't.

I don't know if Hardy will help the team any more than the next best option would and I think it's laughable to pretend that he's entitled to anything in particular, let alone the right to play for one specific franchise. I'm sure if he drops his price enough there are a few other teams out there who will be interested. Not wanting him in Dallas doesn't mean that anyone thinks he shouldn't ever get to play football again. They just don't want him in Dallas. It's inaccurate to say that those who oppose Dallas signing Hardy also oppose any team signing Hardy. He can play for another franchise, can't he? Will the SJW in you permit such a stance?

He had his prove-it year and quite frankly, he didn't. Kinda wish he had because his departure will undoubtedly put an end to anyone's interest in him.

I guess it depends on how the front office views this team. If they think we are a contender, then sign Long. If they think we are in rebuild mode, then don't.

All I know is that without Hardy and Gregory gone 4 games, our pass rush is looking laughable at this point. Laurance is the only guy on the line currently that had more than 5 sacks last year.

We better come up with something because this aint going to get it done and we cant start the season 0-4 because our pass rush is MIA.

And you think that this will go away if Hardy is brought back?

Eventually it will.

Garrett of all people should understand the issues. Dallas had all the ridicule back when he was playing. "Crackboys" etc.

I didn't see him turning his nose up at players like Irvin and Harper, who were the grand poohbahs of the White House.

If he has a problem with Hardy, it is not the domestic violence thing. It is probably because the stories about Hardy challenging his manhood in front of everyone is true.

The other peripheral things with the media about Hardy will be diminished, two years away from the explosion. Last year, the pictures etc. all had an impact. And while Jerry Jones is not right about a lot of things, he is correct they misjudged how being a year off would affect his conditioning.

Unless we get a better pass rushing option, as a player, I think Garrett should be a bigger man and extend the olive branch. This team under his guidance, is not capable of winning without the talent advantage.

I just don't think that Long will improve the pass rush much for Dallas. I would rather spend the money needed for him on younger, potentially ascending players rather than a declining player. I have mentioned Andre Branch earlier. Quinton Coples would be another option as well.

basically he went out and partied a lot and laughed at Garrett for suggesting he stop.
he has always partied alot. --see case with party girl fiancee that broughgt him so much trouble.

but i still think at some point talent versus price makes him re-enter the picture.

no one was cutting michael irvin and he partied his arse off.
