Anytime a team plays simplistic 90s football, the good teams will always take advantage of its predictability. Chris Simms sees it and so do all the smart coaches out there. The good teams will school us far more often than not. It's just a shame that our FO is in denial of the truth. They see the results but the technical knowledge of how to react is beyond their mental capacities, while most of their coaches are behind the times.

Basically what we've been saying about our defense and pretty much JG's overall philosophy. Believing simple scheme and talent and out hustling the opponent will beat everyone.

The same defense ranked 6th last season....lol I guess they forgot what they are doing in a year.

Once AGAIN... coaches get fired every year. You can have a good team or a good season and be fired seasons later when you underperform.

No one is denying their are certain positions where there isnt enough talent.

You just duck and dodge the real questions and issues. Let us know how every gm In the league who has ever fired a coach is also wrong because it's never the coach who is at fault. Players play and coaches coach? Players get cut, traded, not resigned for not being good enough. Coaches get let go for not doing their jobs well enough as well.

You're not wrong. I will say I think the ranking was a bit misleading as they were exposed by good teams near the end of the year a bit. That said Awuzi for sure has regressed,Byron is still not 100% and the front 7 hasnt performed as expected. The Hot Boyz have been the not Boyz

The problem with Rod’s defense is this...

It’s an old scheme, and every OC in the NFL — along with their children — know it like the backs of their hands. They know every possible stunt or variation, they know how to attack it and they know how to defeat it.

Unless maybe there’s an all-pro at nearly every position, 70yo Rod Marinelli and his tired defense aren’t gonna get it done against modern contending teams — no matter how hard the players work.

I don't think it was misleading though, they had 2 let downs. Colts and Rams that they didn't play well. You hit the nail on the head though. The players we thought should be good or get better didn't. Awuzie, Xavier Woods,Heath,Smith, Vander Esh,

Who said they forgot? Did you not know that teams adjust according to talent year to year, opponents, injuries?

As a coach when your doing something that isnt working, you need to adjust. Whether that be plays called or substituting a player who is struggling, you have options.

Forgetting how to coach is just a stupid reply because you have no answers for the logic your pushing on everyone.

Why are coaches fired constantly? Every year? Did they forget how to coach? Or is what they are doing not working and the GM sees it and goes in another direction?

Keep up with senseless, non factual defenses of coaching though because you know more then the current coach apparently who realizes accountability is a real thing. You cant just blame everyone else on the team which is what you seem to think is logical.

All tams have 2-3 base defenses ie their scheme..so teams preparing know what they have to try and avoid or exposé.. so the defense has to execute to counter the counter..its been this way since the dawn of time..

I like when we are on losign streaks we are vanilla and predictable and we on a win streak we are awesome..its always been about players exectuting..

ever hear terms like.

Blown coverages
stay in your gaps
do your job
missed tackles
Bad angles
poor technique
getting burned
getting ran over
being over powered
penalty prone

yes those are things that happen to make a SCHEME look bad..

im glad these high powered coaches in the video have the time to take away from coaching a great team to offer an OPINION..

the same goes for offense..

we havent averaged 10 wins a season the last 3 years being so predictable..yes weve played poorly and its made it appear we are easy to figure out..just coach speak

No they think they just stay in 1 look the whole game. They're just playing bad. What's funny is when Mike Zimmer's defense was struggling last seaon you hear nothing about scheme from these analyst, it's the players and injuries...lol

Teams saw what worked against it and more are using those same tendencies. If you run the same stuff over and over it's going to show up on the film and teams will attack the weaknesses. The defense wasnt very good towards the end of last year.

The bend but don't break strategy is the worst thing you can do when your offense is struggling. The offense gets fewer possessions and they are almost always working with bad starting field position.
