I hope your right, if not this could be a rough ride with Garrett? If the offensive line so bad, Romo and Kitan still put up great numbers in the passing game and rank in the Top 5 in passing and wonder were there listed as giving up sacks? Just think some of Garrett play calling put allot of pressure on the O-Line and the QB plays when they don't commit or try to run the ball.... JMO

I actually like our scheme, but only Free really run blocks well IMO.

We were told early this morning that Mack Brown has officially made three hires as of late last night. We have reason to believe that those three hires were all made on the offensive side of the ball and include Wisconsin OC Paul Chryst, Wiscy OL coach Bob Bostad, and Kansas WR coach Darrell Wyatt. Wyatt held his presser yesterday evening but the other two coaches wanted to break the news to their players before anything else is announced officially by UT.
I don't know this website, but saw this on another board.

One is Wyatt, another is Bo Davis, the third is a mystery. Hopefully it's not Chryst

I think the operative words here are "we have reason to believe." Which means he doesn't actually know. It is just informed speculation. I can't imagine that Chryst was hired by UT last night and then it just came out today he would be interviewed by Jerry.

Has it? If so, do you have a link or was it radio?

I don't see it as a purely lateral move.

I bet his salary comes close to doubling and being a coordinator (granted, they were DCs) at UT has been the ultimate springbard to getting an upper end HC job lately.

I agree that Mack may be around for awhile still. Especially with a new challenge like he has ahead of him. He seems to thrive on that.

They could triple his salary, he isn't getting paid a lot at Wisky. Probably won't need to though, doubling would be a big pay raise for him. I think he'd be a better fit for the NFL. I'm a UT fan and I'd rather have Harsin.

No way in hell they do another head coach in waiting deal.

If your a UT fan you should be wanting Mack to go get Leach.

Is he not? Maybe I misread something. I thought that is why we are talking about him.

Ha. Chryst will probably do a good job but I'm not big on going pro-style in college. Especially Texas which is a state that produces more receivers/qb's than linemen/tight ends. And even if they pound teams and win games with him, until this year his offenses didn't really score a lot of points, way below the much maligned Greg Davis. So I foresee a lot of fan *****ing as bad as the Davis days. Maybe not though, especially if the running game is dominant.

I'd prefer a spread option attack for a college team, not a Leach type spread. More along the lines of Malazhn and what they do at Oregon. Or just a diverse multiple type offense like Harsin/Boise that does some of everything.

Why? Mack and Mike?

Because with the lawsuit against Tech and BSPN Mike will not get another HC gig for a while now. He was a finalist for the Maryland gig and he got his foot slammed in the door at the last second.

Look what he did for Tech with 1/4 of the talent that UT buys. He would have that offense scoring 80 points a game. Plus Mack really likes him and they would slaughter Tech every year. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

IMO if Chryst stays in college his offense is better suited for the SEC then Bevo 10.

Now that would be an odd match.

I think once Leach gets his legal stuff behind him, he'll be snatched up as a HC right away. But seeing that he is suing his old school, that could take awhile.

Hell why not get June Jones? Much rather have Chryst at Texas than Leach

UT buys? Name 1 player! Mack wants a more balanced offense. If is considering Leach then we should have kept Greg Davis! He throws bubble screens the same way.

Since this has become a Longhorn thread, can it please be moved to the sports zone?

In the words of Chris Carter, "Come on Man!" The list could go on for miles.
