Chryst gone to UT?

In the words of Chris Carter, "Come on Man!" The list could go on for miles.

If I'm not mistaking, it was Keyshawn that coined that phase. And it's Cris Carter.

I keep checking it, thinking that it might swing back to Ray Sherman and the OC job, but it's turning more and more burnt orange. About to puke. :laugh2:

Whoever started the tread should've posted it under the Sportszone. However, if you read the topic it states ....to UT not ...to Dallas.

Where's the violation? Mack made promises to daddie Simms that his kid would not be red shirted and would play. Other than that no fault has ever been found in Mack's recruiting. N O N E

it's thread, not tread.

Because with the lawsuit against Tech and BSPN Mike will not get another HC gig for a while now. He was a finalist for the Maryland gig and he got his foot slammed in the door at the last second.

Look what he did for Tech with 1/4 of the talent that UT buys. He would have that offense scoring 80 points a game. Plus Mack really likes him and they would slaughter Tech every year. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

IMO if Chryst stays in college his offense is better suited for the SEC then Bevo 10.

That's the type of offense that is required to even the playing field when you have lesser talent in able to compete against better talent. It would work with UT sure, maybe even be better. But not that much better. It's certainly not the type of offense I want. Don't want pro-style either though.

It would be pretty stupid if he doesn't. Even if Garrett calls his own plays, why would you bypass the opportunity to add another sharp mind to the football braintrust of the organization?

I guess the football decisions around here have been so flawless and sound that they dont need to be improved on, and we don't need to add anymore intellectual talent. :blind:
I agree that loading up on brainpower and coaching talent is never a bad thing.

I assume he would have an assistant coach budget, so it would depend on how he wishes to allocate those dollars.

I would like to see a more pro style offense. I think with the right coaches in-place it would be an easy transition with the players we have and coming in.

There are some coming in that would fit, Brown and Bergeron are good fits. But players who would play next year not so much for the most part. I just think it usually is tying one hand behind your back in the college game. Now it being part of the offense is fine. That's why I like Harsin they can do whatever they want based on the situation. Course, Chryst slung it around more when he was at Oregon State so who knows exactly what his offense would look like.

so is it offical did texas sign Chryst or is jerry going to hopefully interview chryst first:pray:

Wiffed again. Thanks Jerry.
For reals... He should have hired the OC before the HC like he did last time. Cause that was flawless execution.

Some of the posts here make a lot of assumptions.

Do we even know that Garrett is interested in anyone for OC?

If yes....

Do we even know that Garrett is interested in Chryst as a OC?

A source inside the University of Wisconsin athletic department said prior to the Rose Bowl that the Dallas Cowboys loomed as a bigger threat to hire away Badgers offensive coordinator Paul Chryst than the Texas Longhorns.

Prior to UW’s 21-19 loss to Texas Christian in the Rose Bowl, Chryst dismissed reports he was a top candidate identified by Brown to run the Longhorns’ offense.

I'd be suprised if he left Wisconsin for a latteral move. Going to Texas may help him become a college coach faster, but he was a finalist for a few jobs this past season. Not to mention I would atleast think, Bob Bostad would get promoted to OC if Chryst left

lol at considering a move from Wisconsin to Texas to be lateral.

How is it not a lateral move? Going from the Wisconsin OC to the Texas OC is a lateral move; it's the same position.
