Clabo signs with Dolphins

I wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt on any of these when you consider how they screwed up waters two years ago, overpayed for bernie and livings, choosing brewster over levitre, and their overall mismanagement of the line the last decade.

You're all over the board.

They wanted to get younger at offensive line. Which is why they didn't go after Holland. That wouldn't really make sense to go after Waters, who eventually only played for a year. I was in favor of bringing him in though.

The idea that they've paid Bernadeau and Livings a fortune isn't accurate. Look at their contracts.

As for the draft, that's a lot of hindsight.

I think Dallas never had any intention to sign them and that probably includes Moore. If they wanted Clabo, he would have been a Cowboy by now, Winston included.

Do you think that Winston and more are going to retire? Since, if any team wanted them, wouldn't they have signed them already?

If Miami wanted Clabo wouldn't they have signed him before today?

Where does your logic come from?

I say the Cowboys contact the steelers they always have good backups and sometimes starters they are willing to part with.

Since we are stuck on rankings, can someone tell me where Free was rated at the end of 2010? Personally I think he can return to his pre contract form, however I would hate for the Cowboys to pay him $10 million to find out.

What is hard to understand from my post? I don't think Dallas ever had any real plans to sign a FA to play on the line. IMO, they were going to roll with what was already on the roster.

I'm not talking about other teams, only the Cowboys. I think it was more of the fans pipe dream to get one of those three more so than our teams plans.

Do I think they missed a good opportunity, yes I do. I want Moore here bad, the guards need improved upon.

Please, don't bring that half-baked Mickey Spagnola-esque reasoning around here. Clabo was cut by Atlanta to free up cap space because they were just barely under the cap. Good players often get released around the NFL for the very reason.

Really? Which top 25% player was cut by their former team for cap reasons and went on to sign a one year deal worth 3.5 million? I can't think of a single one.

Cap reasons can mean alot of things. He had signed a five year deal back in 2011. The falcons could have felt that he was not worth what they were paying him and evidently based on the contract he received from the dolphins they were right.

Callahan's the same guy that picked Livings and Bernadeau.

Well he was right about Livings.. not so sure about Bernydohh.

Who knows, maybe they think Bernadeau is salvagable. Maybe they think his hip injury and his shoulder injury contributed to poor play.

lol wow, 16 pages on a guy the Cowboys clearly weren't that interested in, seeing that they didn't even bring him in for a visit... You would've thought we were so close to signing Clabo with the amount of posts.

I think the bolded is the point. We had the among the worst RT production in the league last two seasons, yet somehow a 1 year $3.5M deal was too much to make a real significant upgrade at the position.

So the entire 2014 season hangs on Jermey Parnell.

Gosselin says his sources say Free may nee moved to guard.

The offensive line got better as the year went on. It makes sense with more time blocking in Callahan's scheme and blocking together that they would continue to get better.

That being said people are seriously overreacting. Clabo wasn't the only tackle available in free agency. And it was somewhat obvious that the Dolphins were going to sign him over us. They had double the salary cap space we did.

Funny, we hear how players or groups of players get. Better each hear at the end of the year only to watch them start over the next year instead of it carrying over. Well they will be starting g over again and history tells me not to look for improvement until week 10 so what do we do until then... Psst Tony... RUN!!!

That's a bit melodramatic. RT might well be the weak spot of our OL again, though.

I can't see this happening under any circumstances, but it's a good indication of exactly what an anonymous source is worth this time of year.

I promise that JJ will say that nobody that has signed with another team was anyone we were really perusing... I wouldn't expect anything more from the senile idiot!!

..or he could just be telling the truth.

He could be, in fact after thinking about it, I might have misspoke. He probably thinks Free and Parnell are as good as every pro-bowl OT in the NFL...

Same ol, Same ol. It's like a snowballing turd that just keeps getting bigger and bigger and stinks all the way down as it packs on more feces. This organization refuses to properly address the OL.

And every year the usual suspects are right there sprinkling as much sugar as they can as quickly as they can on that big ol turd hoping that it'll look like something else.

We're gonna suck this year. Bookmark it, save it, do whatever you want to with it.

some here keep bleating about how the O line improved later in the year. I guess they must have slept through the last few games like the final one; yeah the O line looked so much better there.

I hope this is a joke,Free as a guard will be a disaster.

The Cowboys front office did not feel like he was enough of an upgrade to warrant any effort in signing him. It's that simple folks.
