The Cowboys front office did not feel like he was enough of an upgrade to warrant any effort in signing him. It's that simple folks.
Mike Fisher seems to think they are trying to save as much as they can to re-sign Sean Lee.

The front office is clearly wrong... again.

Wanting to roll with a young guy with upside like Parnell is not "wrong." In fact, the mentality you are advocating has limited this team for years.

Well, now hold tight. I never said to get rid of Parnell or anything like that. What I would have preferred to see is us get rid of Free, sign Clabo and then let Parnell be his backup and learn for a year or 2.

Just throwing in Parnell this year and hoping everything works out could turn into a disaster.

some here keep bleating about how the O line improved later in the year. I guess they must have slept through the last few games like the final one; yeah the O line looked so much better there.

I don't think anyone said the entire offensive line played well the last three games. It was said the RT position played well the last three games.

I think if you look it up, there are 5 offensive linemen playing at one time.

How many years is Parnell going to be "learning" while sitting? I mean it was his 3rd year in the league.

Disaster?

The kid played two games at LT and there was no disaster.

He played parts of four games at RT and there was no disaster.

Same ol, Same ol. It's like a snowballing turd that just keeps getting bigger and bigger and stinks all the way down as it packs on more feces. This organization refuses to properly address the OL.

And every year the usual suspects are right there sprinkling as much sugar as they can as quickly as they can on that big ol turd hoping that it'll look like something else.

We're gonna suck this year. Bookmark it, save it, do whatever you want to with it.

I doubt if we suck.

We just won't have a team that is built to do any damage on the road in the playoffs.

If we get in the playoffs we'll be lucky to get 1 home game. After that it's just a matter of time before we are eliminated because this O-Line won't hold up on the road.

We couldn't beat Washington last year and they weren't even throwing the ball lol.

Everyone compares this to the Waters signing a few years back. I mean, he was the final piece to the Pats Super Bowl win, wasn't he? What's that...they didn't win the Super Bowl? How is that possible?

Clabo isn't the final piece that is winning us the Super Bowl...

It's more about the rest of the team staying healthy and a couple of players stepping up....mainly on defense but one or two on the offense as well.

I never thought I would see "Tyson Clabo or bust" as a theme for the year, but that sure seems to be the thought here.

Technically it's his second. He was on practice squads in 2010. I'm not sure why the nfl pages list him as a 4th year player when the only roster time he has accrued were in 2011 and 2012.

That I understand, but even on the practice squad he's practicing and learning. I mean they don't stick'em in a dark room and forget about'em. :)

Is that you Jerry?

We did diddly squat in Free Agency so far fixing our biggest problem and we reached on a lineman that is really not 1st round quality and are expecting him to fix our interior.

It's a joke and we need more.

Jason Garrett isn't going to coach around this O-line. He'll call plays like it's the 93 Cowboys. A guy like Clabo would've been a nice get as far as protecting Romo.

Yes, we should throw money at the problem instead of doing what good teams like the 49ers do and develop the line over time.

They used 2 1st round picks in the same year on Oline.

We finally started using top picks but the guy this year isn't a first round talent.

Anyways we're not getting it done. You can approve of how the Cowboys are building this line but it's proven to fail and it will fail again unless we get extremely lucky with some guys.

I completely disagree with your assessment in virtually very respect. In my opinion, Smith-Livings-Fred-Costa/Leary-Parnell is a much improved line. If we can add a piece like Moore, even better, but I definitely think Parnell has shown enough to get a chance start.

Good point. Its time for Parnell to jump into the deep end, so to speak. I would think Dallas will have either Free, or if Free is released, another vet. OT, as the swing tackle.

Win a Super Bowl? Heck I just want to win a game.. Playoffs? Don't talk to me about playoffs!!!:laugh2:

But seriously at this point it's about being good enough to get to the Super Bowl or win a few playoff games, you know, be true contenders once again..

And what 1st round offensive line talent was there at #31 or even #18 for that matter?

It's alway easiest to take the negative slant all the time because you're going to be right more often than you are wrong.

And, once again, you add nothing to the discussion.

And by the way, is there anything more annoying than the guy who laughs at his own bad joke?
