Clabo signs with Dolphins

Do you guys actually believe Jerry is going to spend money on Moore only a year after spending money on Livings and Bernie? :laugh1:

No way, no how.

He is going to put pressure on his coaches to take spam and make steak and shrimp out of those two.

Yep if we were going to sign anybody it was going to be Clabo, Moore would be nice but don't think Jerry is ready to invest anything else in the oline.

With Romo's ability to step up and avoid the pass rush, the interior is the most important area on the o-line for this team. Brandon Moore would be a welcome addition if we were to go that route.

Jerry has a tendency to listen to coaches (see the 2013 NFL Draft), so if Callahan pushes for Moore because of the familiarity with the Jets, maybe they go for it.

Is it not possible that Clabo chose the Dolphins over the Cowboys?
Yes I think i read an article that Clabo was afraid of circus clowns.

Sorry, I crack myself up.

Jerry rolls the dice with at least one position each season, last year it was Center, the previous one it was Safety, this year it is RT. Every time it is a complete disaster and I dont expect this season to be any different. This team has 7-9 wins written all over it.

If we go into the season paying Free what he is scheduled to make, then yes, we are stupid. But it's also stupid to make that assumption at this point.

I just don't get the idea that Free taking a pay cut is going to turn him into a stud RT.

And anybody saying Clabo would not have been an upgrade over Free wins the
"homer of the month" award.

I'm with yea, went into the offseason with hopes they would fix the oline and dline and one center just not going to cut it

Because Beavis, even with all their "failure", they still know infinitely more about this game and those that play it than you or me.

Yep, those guys in the front office know more about the game than just about anybody else, that's why we make deep playoff runs year in and year out.

oh wait............

I don't see it happening. He'd be admitting a mistake if he did so. Plus the comments I've heard from him and Stephen this offseason make me think they are both coming back. Jerry simply does not value the oline position. I'd be EXTREMELY shocked if they went after Moore.

Callahan's the same guy that picked Livings and Bernadeau.

You're probably right. Eh, one can dream...

Source?

Never understood the obsession with Winston and Clabo. Reminds me of something Bill Parcells said about backup QBs always being fan favorites as opposed to the starter. Did anybody actually watch these guys play?

Do I think Clabo might have been a slight upgrade over Free? Maybe. Marginally. If if Free is the 60th ranked tackle Clabo might have been 53rd. The reality is no matter who is playing tackle for us the spot is going to be a liability. Clabo was not the savior of the franchise and neither is Winston.

People blast him for it but the Mickey Spagnola rule is really common sense. In reality when guys get paid less or more then what fans perceive their value to be its because the fans perception is wrong. Clabo signed a cheap one year deal for a reason. He's not that good fellas.

Bingo!

And how does that look in retrospect?

In fact, who or what did get better on the offensive line under Callahan?

Livings was the 16th ranked guard per PFF.

If someone has figures/facts to refute that, then play your cards. :)

Yeah, Livings had the best year of his career and was an above average OLman last year, according to almost every site and critic. Smith, Livings and Frederick should not be a problem this year. The question is the other 2 OL spots. It would be nice to get a good vet guard like Moore to play next to Parnell, while plugging in Frederick at center. Worst case scenario, we go Smith-Livings-Costa-Frederick-Parnell.

Just asking, was that a marked improvement over his previous ranking per PFF?
