Signed by Cowboys Claiborne's signed one year deal with Cowboys

I still think we go corner early. Carr and Claiborne I think will be gone after next season. Could get Ramsey move him to safety w Byron or just make him learn how the nfl is and keep him at corner

I doubt the FO thinks that far ahead. We're usually reactive, not proactive.

Yes, but it also could mean he was assigned the wrong role. The dude is not a FS. We had two SS playing at the same time.

In our scheme, I do not believe there are the defined free and strong roles. Was not that way in Chicago with Marinelli either.

I think what you are seeing is really just a RB struggling and pretending to play S as he always has.

Thank goodness. Was really sweating this one out. Had no clue how we could replace his level of production.

This is all about Jerry refusing to admit what a huge bust this guy was and is

No, it's really not.

Take this bullcrap to rant zone/Jerry forums. That's where the stupidity thrives.

But you would use a 1st rounder next year then.

personally I would not use a top draft pick on a CB. The Cowboys have a history of wasting valuable resources in the Defensive backfield with little to noting to show for it. Their best CB in a long time was drafted in the fifth round. CBs that leave Dallas tend to play better after they leave Dallas. The Cowboys have not had an elite level CB since Deion..... and that was a long time ago.

another ignorant post

Mo was called the best defender since Deion.... tell me how many teams have spent first round picks starting in their defensive back field and the 4 th spot on the db with a high priced free agent acquisition? That is placing a lot of premium resources at one spot of your team. Other areas of the team need attention too.

What Mo was called or projected to be has nothing to do with his value today. He's a solid depth guy and was only paid like a solid depth guy. We haven't signed a single high priced free agent at any position; never mind the DBs.

If Ramsey is the top guy on your board, you take him. Claiborne and Thomas have nothing to do with that call.

It's a one year, 3 million dollar deal. Calm down, people. He doesn't have to live up to the initial investment to have some value.

Hardly any money or risk here so I'm fine with it.

I happy he is back he played real well in some of the games. With Scandrick back and decent pass rush he will have more help.

$3M with a max value of $3.75M. Would have excepted he would cost about half of that but oh well it is not my money. Hopefully he builds off a last year.

Nice insurance.

You know you didnt live up to expectations when your second deal has a lower base than your rookie contract.

If we get Nolan, we can finally get that godawful Carr contract off the books.

Thomas
Claiborne

Seems like CB in the draft would be overkill now.

I hated the Mo pick from day I and the only encouragement that I get from this signing is that it is only a one year deal. Maybe that one year will be enough to cut him after next season .

I don't subscribe to that theory where you have to plug your holes so you can draft properly. I think it's the other way around. You have to draft properly in order to not have so many glaring holes every year.

You be the pretend GM, I'll pretend I 'm the owner and tell you 'it's a process'.

If those are the numbers, then this is a good signing. Mo knows he hasnt done enough to warrant big $$. Pretty much expect Mo to play his *** off this season at all cost.

Which was the expectation for last year.
