I'm a firm believer that only a new GM that doesn't have a list name of Jones can do this

Yea , it’s amazing zing how many fans buy into the hype. Some even follow the rhetoric and eternal optimism from Jethro believing we have enough talent.

I’m wondering if it’s all Homerish or do they not watch all of the better teams around the league?

The closet thing it reminds me of is parents who see no harm in their child’s behavior.

If the Rams can do it surely we can .
Rams have a lower cap figure than we do for one Stafford makes over 10 million less than Dak
Donald makes less than tank and kupp makes less than Cooper.

And they already have a good coach that gets the most out of their talent in a tough division

Like I said earlier to AC- HomerDak is maybe this year isn’t best year to do as such .

My bigger point is I think it could be a way to overcome our dysfunctional and toxic culture. I like what LA did this year and Tampa did last year. This might be a blueprint when you’re in better Cap position.

Lot's of people asking how do the Rams do it. They must be in cap hell or cheating the cap somehow. I think it's in the structure of their contracts and when they make the trade, I think Ramsey still had 1 or 2 years left on his rookie deal, Miller and OBJ hadn't performed up to their names or reputation but evidently still have something in the tank. I think they learned from the Gurley deal. The Cowboys not so much. Only in Jerry's world does Lawrence, Elliot and Cooper make that much. They could have signed Dak a whole lot earlier and cheaper , franchised or traded him but that's the FO.

Yep

But the Rams did give up 3 1st round picks. Which is kinda like mortgaging you’re future. You better win now. I love it.

I think as soon as we are able Cap wise it’s perfect plan for Jethro. Then we can truly say SB or Bust.

It has nothing to do with superior fandom.

Troy isn’t a superior fan to Michael. I just prefer and trust Troys perspective more. A cheerleader is last fan I’d trust cause they cheer on almost everything.

And that’s fine . We need cheerleaders. Just please don’t sit in front of me.

And yes, some of us take it more seriously. Why does that bother the more casual fans so much?
You take it more seriously as far as having the last word, and feeding the delusion that you’re in some kind of inner sanctum of noble guru-ness that could actually impact something other than your own ego. While the serious scientists discuss tendencies and blocking schemes, analytical factoids, and other various facets of the rocket science called football, us carefree rah rah’s drool on our shoes and dream of acquiring your insider status to illuminate our daily struggles.✊

It has nothing to do with inside knowledge, etc. We just aren’t interested in your take because of the Homerish attitude. Can’t trust it.

Dont be offended . I tell all my Homer friends same thing. They can’t handle reading the papers or local commentary. I get it. I call it tough love. Not everyone can handle it.

I wouldn't mind it at all , get # 6 and rebuild. Only thing is can they eval the FA talent. Jones says you over pay in FA and learned their lesson on Brandon Carr. But one CB isn't going to put you over the top, Another thing the Rams do is let the other team pay the majority of guaranteed money before trading. Hasn't worked out yet they still have to beat the 49ers but I think the Tampa game is really going to help Stafford.

Great question. That’s where we’d actually need this better coaching is to assemble this team in FA.

It would just be a beautiful thing for Jethro to go against why the Cap was implemented to prevent a team from abusing FA.

It’s something I could go all in on with him.

This is where you always end with claiming the last word. No, it’s you that doesn’t get it.

You’re so deep in your own views that you can’t see the condescension. “We aren’t interested in your take”! Well guess what? Maybe “we” aren’t interested in YOUR take! Maybe “we” think you’re an arrogant prick! Or maybe your take only means something to your little group. No offense!

All you homers have is criticism of our attitudes and attack the messengers cause you despise the message and get frustrated when we stand firm on our argument.

And when we fired back with our arrogance and condescension always end up in this place. It’s so unnecessary. Just ignore please to avoid this. Or is your entire tactic to just derail the thread. If that’s the case then eat it . I’m tired of being cordial and wasting time.

Agreed it kind of looks like their front office doesn't get bullied into overpriced contracts they got OBJ for 400k

You have to have discipline in place to take on those kind of talents. That’s where the right coaching comes in.

OBJ looks like a different player almost back wow 400k. What gets me is how easy the FO gives in. Who re-ups a RB on his rookie deal with 2 years left on it ? Lawrence basically said he wasn't getting his shoulder fixed until a new deal. Cooper we did give up a #1 but the cap hits are crazy.

Exactly and you said coaching isn't going to get us over the hump Well the proper coaching can make use of elite but troubled talent that other coaches are not able to make use of.

So in reality if we had good coaching that could discipline the players we already have and possibly discipline some economical talent like the Rams found in OBJ we may be able to get a little further.

It's a given every team would like to add more talent The trick of the light is finding a coaching staff that can get the most out of their role players and players obtained in later rounds.

We haven't had elite coaching in so long it seems like some of the people here obviously yourself has forgotten just how important it is.

Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson are in the Hall of Fame for a reason. They coached players to super bowl wins and made the talent they had into the best it could be

Yeah it's really a hoot these guys know that they can hardball Jerry into getting what they want and their agents just stand fast and wait till Jerry gives in
