Coaching Staffs lack of confidence in Dak handcuffing him

And pulling Zeke for Dunbar? Good question!

Zeke already carried the ball 20+ times and split 3rd down snaps. Morris stinks as a receiver. If you play Zeke 60 carries every game then he won't be worth a second contract. You need to spell him.

It was high, and towards the end of the season the same thing happened and the offense bogged down.
Respectfully, I think maybe you have your seasons mixed up Michael?

That offense in December 2014 was possibly the best in Dallas Cowboy history.
All four blowout wins while averaging well over 40 points per game.

Well, we need to dig in and get ready for the next two games. Drew Brees is my fantasy QB, and I just noticed he had 30 TD passes and 8 picks this year before playing Detroit and Tampa Bay the last two weeks. In those two losses he had 0 TD and 3 INT in each game, so these two teams are bringing it on D.

Certain situations call for keeping Zeke in the game. You don't pull the best RB in the game for a scrub like Dunbar on key, game changing third downs.

The Coaching staff is showing zero confidence in Dak putting out vanilla game plans that are stifling Daks ability to preform. They are not asking Dak to win rather don't loose. In the meantime they are now 2 for 25 on third down the last 2 games. Dak has not thrown for more than 200 yards in last two games and has only two 300 yrd games this season. The game plans look like a coaching staff with a game manager and a top ten defense except this is not a top ten defense. If you have such a lack of confidence in Dak then play Romo or simply take Daks handcuffs off. The dismal lack of offensive production lies at the feet of a coaching playing not to loose. I blame Garrett n Linehan. Take the cuffs off let Dak play.

Umm....this is a top 10 Defense....in points allowed.

He looks lost right now. He's a rookie. He should be.

Teams have figured him out.

You put Romo in right now and we'll be playing in the Wild Card game on the road.

It's gonna take Romo a few games to knock off the rust.

stop LOOSING dak.

Seriously I don't think the coaches are interested in putting Dak in bad spots, the opposite is true.

we didn't lose because of coaching.

?

Romo's allegedly been "lighting it up" in practice for four weeks now. He's a ten year vet. It's like riding a bicycle after being off of one for a while. It doesn't take that long to shake it off.

I have a feeling Romo might play again soon. It all depends upon how Dak does against Tampa. Dak was awful yesterday. It's nothing to be ashamed of since he's a rookie. People didn't expect it because he's played so well as a game manager. But that throw to Dez ten yards in front of him with a safety in the middle of the field while Zeke was open in the flat and no one was covering him was both a bad decision and throw. He shouldn't even have looked to Dez.

I've studied the games and I don't see much handcuffing.

The Cowboys have limitations.
Witten - Great but limited due to lack of speed.

Beasley - Great but size limited. Too small to block on run plays.

TWill - Good but can't catch certain types of throws which limits his routes.

Dez - Poor route runner and unpredictable. Inconsistent blocker on running plays.

Butler - Struggles to catch consistently and not a good blocker on running plays.

One of the reasons they keep trying to work Dunbar in is because they want an additional receiving threat to overcome some limitations by other players.

Not true.. I posted the video..

First of all, the underneath route was open and Dak ignored it.

Second, Dak threw into the center of the field at the safety playing deep and overthrew Dez by a lot. He threw it right to the safety.

Third, Jenkins had inside leverage blocking off any chance of Dez even going to the middle.

Dak didn't throw it to more to the sideline to give Dez a chance.

It wasn't even close to Dez's fault. Absolute blinders caused by Dak love to put that on Dez..

The one I saw, Dez quit on the route.

Why, unless it's 3rd short Zeke is not going to run the ball?

Agree %100, either open up the playbook and prove that you have confidence in him, or put Romo in.

The defenses are going to continue to blitz, bring pressure, and jump his shorter routes. They know that's what he's going to struggle against because he struggles a bit more with the accuracy on the medium and deep throws.

Until he starts consistently beating defenses on medium and long throws, to force them out of it, they're going to continue to play him this way. I believe he will eventually get it, and learn, and get better from it.

But I just don't believe that's going to happen this season.
Agree 100%, the question is how does management react? Despite all of his undeniably great contributions this year, the season is not solely Dak's development project, it has been a hard fought 53 man effort and those players deserve the chance at attaining what so few NFL players ever achieve in a lifetime.

With 11 wins in 13 games I'd say the coaching staff has done pretty well, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to get things moving forward again.

If they start taking advice from the arm chair coaches here, then I'll get concerned.

Because you know they're just reading this board trying to figure out what to do.

Didn't we average 41 points a game in December?

I seem to remember that Murray was somewhat bogged down at the end, a combination of wear, defenses and injury... but we flipped the switch on Romo from game manager to MVP and he had something like 15 TDs and 1 INTs for the month.

It looks like our current QB only came with the game manager setting.

I lol'd at that good one

Watch the play again....Dez quit on the route! Geeesh!

Because if the QB was reading the defense he doesn't make that throw. Dez knew that, everyone knows that. I see people keep blaming Dez for that int. But if you're going to throw a ball up like that know where your single coverage is presnap
