I no longer want Dak as QB of the Dallas Cowboys.

But anyone who post anything from Cowherd or Bayless should receive a lifetime ban.

Kind of sounds like he is talking about Arron Rodgers. Dak was second in MVP voting just last season which means his reputation in not obsolete. He definitely got off to a bad start this season and is now injured but 8 games isn't living. I'd give him a little more time before I lay this on him.

And Now the REAL MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't Cowherd singing Prescott's praises for the last 3 quarters of the 2023 season as he played at a MVP level and finished 2nd in MVP voting? Is he sure he isn't referring to Aaron Rodgers living off an obsolete reputation? That would make more sense to me.

Prescott has been pretty bad this season and has seemed off even in the Cleveland win. But, he is not even a full year removed from playing the best ball.of his career in 2023. So not sure how obsolete his reputation is around the League.

I'm not the biggest Prescott guy in the fandom and I definitely know he has limitations as a QB. If Cowherd is referring to him as a player with warts that have existed throughout his career, then, OK. If he is saying Prescott looks like crap in 2024, OK. But, his reputation can't be obsolete if he played at his best ever just last season.

Dude. Sportswriters pick the MVP. Dak being 2nd in MVP voting means he's a FF stud. His reputation around real NFL people is indeed obsolete. Man, you gotta find better backing for your ideas.

The preseason rating that I saw had Dak at 11th.
I understand you don't like Dak. As of the end of last year some people around the NFL thought Dak was pretty good. I don't hear too many of them saying that this year so I'm not sure what living he is making off his reputation. If you want to make a distinction between sportswriters and the real NFL that's fine. Cowherd would be barely in the sportswriter group and I would put him below as he gets his information from sportswriters and spits out seemingly unfounded opinions. He is certainly not part of the real NFL.

Is this the same Colin Cowherd who went on a ten minute rant in 2018 saying the Cardinals will dominate the NFC West for a decade after drafting Josh Rosen?

I guess Cowherd is an expert about making his living off an obsolete reputation.

He was something like 350 points behind Lamar Jackson.
The bottom line is the only two players in the NFL to get any MVP votes at all last year were Lamar and Dak. Yes, Jackson blew Dak out of the water, but no other player was even in the conversation.

It's fair to criticize Dak's play this year, but in 2023 (and other years prior to that), he had an incredible season. Now we can get into the quality of teams he played and all that, sure, but I am just going off the raw data.

I don't agree with Cowherd all of the time but he's spot on here. Rush is a better fit for McCarthy's WCO over Dakota.

I don't have a problem with anyone saying Dak has made poor decisions or played poorly at time this season, but Cowterd makes almost as stupid a statement as the guy who said he quit on this boys because he shouldn't miss any time for a hamstring injury.

How can a guy be living off "an obsolete reputation at this point" when he played great last season, well enough to be considered one of the top QB performances and at least in the MVP discussion? IF he had played last season without Pollard and Cooks and with this OL, I'm sure he would have played poorly then as well. Cooks is not special, but he's better than anyone else we are running out there, and he had respect. Pollard had an off year last season in our running game because of the OL, but defenses still accounted for him because he was the only guy besides Lamb who might take it to the house at any moment. This year we don't have any playmakers besides Lamb who clearly wasn't the same by sitting out of camp, and the OL has struggled, though improving.

In my opinion, Dak is very much like Goff. Give him weapons and decent protection, and he can help you win, maybe win everything, but the Cowboys never put together a solid team like the Lions have now. Something is always missing and has been since the 90's. It's the OL; it's the secondary, it's the receivers, then the entire defense. This team cannot run the ball or defend the run or generate a pass rush, and it can only sustain anything through the passing game if all the targets go to Lamb and the blocking holds up.

Do you think Goff would be a solid franchise QB if the Lions had no running backs or blocking to threaten a defense, and had only St Brown at WR?

Again, I'm not excusing Dak for trying to do too much and throwing bad passes and making bad decisions. We cannot win with him turning the ball over, but this is the same guy that had an excellent year last year. The problem with this team goes much deeper than the QB. While he can and should be playing better, I don't believe for an instant that this team would have a better record than it does now. Jerry made a mess of this roster and coaching after signing a QB who needs more than 1 receiver and at least a threat of a run game.

It's almost silly to continue the Dak talk because he IS the franchise QB whether one likes it or not. It's Jerry's job to build a team around him knowing that he is not a QB who can do it alone.
You're nailing it. I'm waiting for "Trevor quit on his team", now that he has an unfortunate shoulder injury as JAX QB. It will not happen.
"The Facility" will not say a word.

2016 that's the reputation he is living off.

You have a rookie that takes a team 13-3 it's a sign you are on the right track.

You got hope. You got reason to look forward to next year and the year after.

Then, 3 years later it hasn't happened and normal people go, "What went wrong?"

And the answer is the guy is not what we thought he was. And the team moves on. Except Booger who still believes there is a championship QB hiding somewhere in the guy he drafted because Booger is never wrong. And when he is it's his team and he can do what he wants......

30 years after Jimmy he still hasn't learned.
