I think it is a wake up call that the Cowboys will be the reason the Cowboys will lose moving forward.

Yes, the Bills ran on them but the personal foul penalties led to touchdowns for the Bills. Each one of them, the Cowboys defense would have gotten off the field.

Similar to a batter in baseball, you don’t give an NFL offense extra opportunities when stops were made.

I'm gonna say wakeup call. Had a few things gone differently, it would've been a close game at halftime, so we could run the ball more.

Collapse or wake-up call?

The odds makers were never fooled. They had the Bills favored the whole time.
An important point. If one wants a good objective perspective, it would be difficult to find a better evaluation.

Team lacks the players it needs to win consistently against good teams.

The Cowboys should have known beforehand that this was a dogfight against a physical jacked up team at their place. We saw that they didn't match Buffalo's intensity at their place.
If I could send a memo to this team, I'd remind them how crucial it is for them to earn home field throughout the tournament. (they have a moribund record on the road)

When the score should be 3-3 and it’s 14-3 because of penalties you have a hole. And then when you don’t throw the red flag to get the turnover and the score should be 3-3 and now it is 21-3 you have a hole you can’t get out of when your defense who is undersized and has a hard enough time stopping the run has been out ther 15 more minutes than it should have you are done!

On one hand it was a classic trap game. We won five in a row, including a big win against Philly last week, and then go on the road against a good team fighting for the playoffs.

On the other hand it was a total blowout on the road again with sloppy play. We are basically locked into the 5th spot as a road wildcard team barring a major meltdown.

This team has issues with penalties, run defense and against tough teams on the road and in the playoffs. I really don't forsee and 3 game road playoff run.

Is this the start of our annual collapse, or is this a wake-up call to the team prior to going to the playoffs? It'll be up to the coaches to instill a mindset into this team that hasn't been instilled for a while. Typically, this time of the season, the Cowboys get crushed by a team. It then serves as a needle to pop the Cowboys balloon. Unfortunately, at this time, it feels like a repeat of the same film. See if once and you see a typical Cowboys season.

However, I would like to hold out the faintest of hope that the Cowboys coaches will instead use this as the kick in the pants that a lot of playoff teams get to remind them that they've not won anything yet. As painful as this was, let's be honest. The Cowboys were getting really cocky. The amount of bulletin board material they put out against a team that was going to be desperate for a win to stand a chance at making the playoffs was stupid. Putting people's faces on the tackling and blocking sleds, then putting it on social media for all to see, then the whole Ferguson smack talking leading into this game. I think the team came into this game, similarly to the Cardinals game, expecting to just walk in, grab a win, and get home. They forgot to actually play the game.

One of the big areas that needs to be fixed is the personal fouls. The three personal fouls that our defence/ST committed resulted in TDs. This along with Martin's injury led to the game getting out of hand. So, I'll close this thread out by saying this. Is this the start of a collapse, or is this a wake-up call? Only the FO, coaches, and players can answer that.
Stick a fork in it. We are toast. Say hello to Bellichek.

collapse

they have had dozen of “wake up call” over the past few season with mccarthy and they still end up doing the same stupid soft stuff every single year

no wake up call maybe not a collapse but this is what they are

front runner if thing is going good they can beat the crap out of people but if thing start to go wrong they just implode every single time they are weak and soft

Hopefully, a wake up call. We’ve seen how this team has bounced back from the SF debacle, so let’s hope we see the same next week. I’ll reserve judgement until after the Miami game.

Yes.

Always tough when reality kicks back in and wakes you up from your wet dream.
Hmm, I have to wonder why wet dreams would pop into your mind while reading another man's response on a Cowboys forum.

......yet if the Cowboys somehow beat the Bills the narrative would be they are 7-7 so they really didn't beat a winning team.
Didn't say anything about record.

Bills were one of the consesus SuperBowl contenders (along with us, SF, Philly, Cincy (b4 losing QB) , Jets (b4 losing QB), Baltimore, KC and Miami.

We've played 4 of those games (who had their QB). Lost 3....won 1.

Nearly beat Philly twice though...but nevertheless 1-3.

Lions are KINDA in that group now... so we still have a chance to even our record in reg season against elite teams. No more harsh weather games at least
