College football vs the NFL

Yeah so if your Kansas and you play one of the weaker schedules in America and your say LSU and you only lose 1 game with an absolutely brutal schedule you dont deserve in over a Kansas or someone like that?

I dont think so.

College football is the only team sport without a playoff.

Its absolutely stupid not to have one.

In a playoff system at least everyone then will be playing good teams to get to a championship instead of walking through cup cakes and getting there.

Well, then playoffs it is.
My point is even if there was a playoff system, the best team doesn't always end up with the championships.

I'm not pro or anti college football playoff system. My initial post was just a comment of how much I enjoyed this season.

Again, I am enjoying this season with or without the playoff system, I simply don't care if there is playoff system or not.

what does this have to do with the price of cheese on the world market? Or for that matter our discussion of which is better, pro vs college? Probably not anyone in the forum thats played NFL ball either

not relevent at all

other than the atmosphere of the game, there is nothing about college that is better than the pros now...the game itself stinks and some of the rules are absolutely ********

David

The game does not stink, and if it wasnt for college football there would be no NFL. The college game is MUCH older, and the rivalries are better. Im not saying college is better, I like it more, personally. But to totally dismiss it is asinine.

I like the pro game too, but the difference is a pro can ride the bench and it doesnt matter to him, hes getting paid regardless. In college they play for a future paycheck, it brings out better play and more intensity.

I played for what was then called Southwest Texas State (just Texas State now). I never got drafted by an NFL team, do I regret it or hold any hard feeling towards the NFL? Not for a second, I had the time of my life for 4 years.

I can understand that but I just think your getting cheated as a fan.

I dont enjoy someone telling me who is the best team in football.

Last year Ohio State and Michigan were far and beyond better than anyone according to ESPN... To bad nobody told that to Florida.

Do you think the best team always wins the championship in college? The fact that the best team doesn't always win the title isn't something that cuts against a playoff system.

If West Virginia and Missouri or OSU end up in the title game, will you think that the winner is the best team in the nation? I don't see how anyone can say that definitively. I don't see how anyone can pick two teams and say they're the best right now. It changes every week. That's why this system doesn't work.

I don't care if current system does or doesn't work, I enjoyed the competition and I enjoyed the upsets.

My team, USC is out of national championship picture and I have no vested interested in who becomes the national champion, all I want to see is great bowl games.

You must be a big fan of Childrens T Ball.

Gotta love it when everyone gets a trophy.

You do understand that if there were an 8 team playoff for example, USC would probably be in it, don't you?

They had some injuries earlier in the year, and are playing better now. Are you telling me you wouldn't like to see them settle it on the field, and have a chance at the title?

The best part of the college game is that they get to play with the balls (no giggling) they practice with all week. No shiny, greased pigs to deal with.

College football is the equivalent of watching the 4th qtr of an NFL preseason game...BORING as hell!

Games can be exciting, but something is wrong with overtime. Games ends with a thumper. Its really sloppy as well, and they try to make it a high scoring affair whereas the nfl wants to protect the players the college level wants to 'excitement.'

And who ended up #1 and national champions?

Anyone that thinks pro football is going to bury college football hasn't a clue.

Not by a long shot.

Why because you have a great atmosphere around it?

You could have 90,000 people going crazy and acting like idiots for 2 guys play tic tac toe. It doesn't mean its a good product.

There is very bad football being played.

The NFL at the top level is a better product. But with the bad teams in the NFL it's a pretty bad product of football.

Making a total fabrication of something proves nothing and reeks of immaturity and having no sustainable point.

There is very bad football being played.

As in all levels of football. Enjoy the Dolphins game tonight.

So you don't like college football, who cares? Don't watch it. But before you go and make some claim the NFL is in the process of burying the NCAA, try coming up with some proof positive, instead of some childish make believe rhetoric.
