I hope they pay Columbo, Jerry is being a cheapo. Letting Larry Allen go for 3mill when the cap was available is simply being cheap.I don't get it. Hey if your hurting for cash then so be it, simply say we need to be fiscally responsible because this stadium is costing big money.

I think Dockery's deal is the one that really caused all sorts of problems. Steinbach was arguably the best guard available- Dockery wasn't.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Good point.

Dockery is to blame.

He can be passive-aggressive all he wants. And the blame will come if that behaviour ends up costing us a reasonable chance to field an offensive line that is at least as capable as last season.

I realize the draft is the next big hope, but suppose we target players and miss out? That happens every year.

And if everyone knows we need an offensive guard and especially tackle, there is a very strong chance that we will be a day late and a dollar short.

None of us are currently working in the organization, no one even knows what Columbo is demanding. Perhaps he is pushing for a highly lucrative long term deal. He has had a devastating knee injury which to his credit he has managed to overcome but he could be suspectable again with little chance of recovery a second time around.

A stout increase in compensation over two years to see if he can hold up and to reward his performance would seem very reasonable to me.

Actually Columbo's injury is not one that should re-occur. Its not like a trick knee, bad back, messed up shoulder.

I don't know about severely dislocated knee caps but he has a massive frame and is slow footed. He is still rebuilding his upper body strength. That is a recipe for potential injury disaster when engaging very physical defenders.

He is a lot stronger now- and will be stronger still with another offseason. Not really a concern.

Larry was let go because of his declining skills relative to his increased compensation demands. Historically he has always been well compensated.
