great trade for a veteran corner. now we do not have to start bland outside and can keep him inside where he belongs. now we do not need to spend a second round pick on another corner.

we can re-sign him too if he continues to play well for like a 2 year deal.

Gilmore is a great signing. Because he plays boring, does his job and makes plays. Bland playing slot. Get Wagner and Hopkins or obj done and make that run for #6

I like this for a 5th. Older but it’s a comp pick we received for a guy who may have tread left

I mean if you can get a 6th or 7th, why not?

But I have no qualms cutting him. Bland in the slot, Diggs and Gilmore outside. Throw in Kearse, Hooker and Wilson at safety and you have one of the best secondaries in the NFL.
And Mukwamu is probably going to be a matchup guy depending on the opponent. So he will factor into the CB mix.

One of the very few Cowboys FA things I liked lately.

Even for his age he had a pretty solid year last year and has what 1y left on his contract.

Totally. He played well when given a chance and could grow into something bigger than just a situational guy. He could also factor in at safety if they ever decide to move on from Hooker down the road.
