I would've looked at O'Brien, Greg Roman, Whisenhunt, Shaw, Horton and few others. Of course I'd also let them be the actual HC, hire their own staff, decide who makes the final roster and the starting lineup, and have full control over the game plan and strategy.

Garrett is a proven failure and so is the coordinator as fake HC model Jerry keeps going with.

Your definition of failure is obviously different than mine, but at least you have a list replacements.

This is how you realize people think when it is something they dont possess, if you were to ask someone, how many times can i break your expensive vase before you realize you are out of that money, trust me you are not having that conversation, when its something they dont possess or their own money, spend that crap or waste all the time you want.

Dallas Cowboys fans, so beaten up they all accept the word hope to save them. Wow.

is 8-8 & 1/2 feasible?

No but 8-7-1 is. Feel better? :)

I really have never seen the fan base this low before, not just on this site but others as well, the vast majority of Cowboy fans think this team will be 8-8 or worse next year and virtually no chance at the playoffs under Garrett.

Cant say I blame them, when you go 8-8 for three consecutive seasons and announce that virtually the same coaches and same players are coming back for another season................cant blame the fan base for not being excited.

It would be amazing if it worked out that way...you know, the way it's supposed to work out.

A coach gets fired-the entire staff is on the last year of their deals-nobody is retained...house is completely cleaned.

Then the new guy comes in and hires his own staff...

But that isn't going to happen. So what the heck is there to look forward to?

None of the coaches that have been hired by other teams have impressed me so far. I don't know who everybody is expecting the next coach to be when they demand Garrett's firing.

I wouldn`t mind Whisenhunt.

My original post was more to imply that if we aren't going to fire Garrett they may as well keep the entire staff, let them fail, then let new HC next year actually get to hire his staff.

I was all for kiffin firing till I figured, we don't want to replace his replacement next year when Garrett goes 8-8 again.

I'm still rooting for the team to prove me wrong and Jerry being right about Garrett would make me extremely happy cuz I root for the Star. Not the players or coaches. My opinion is Garrett staying for at least one more year is instead of changing everything again have a little consistency so there are no more excuses

Problem is, we'll end up going 8-8 again, one game from making the playoffs, so we won't even get a top draft pick.

I take it you havent seen our schedule next year. Only games I'm marking down as a win are the Jags, Titans, and maybe 3 wins in the division.

With this coaching staff we are guaranteed to fail. I'm certainly expecting a crash and burn season. The writing is on the wall.

I'm curious to know why he thought this way. o_O

As for miracles... I do believe they can occur, even under the current circumstances. ;)

When you down in the dumps you can either face up to it or rationalize why it's not so bad

His rationale was that he would get to study the subject again, of course ignoring the fact that if he had prepared well the first time he would not need to
