I wouldn`t mind Whisenhunt.
He was my hope too. I'll be very interested to see what he does in Tennessee.
While Nero continues to fiddle in Dallas...

This may sound like I'm rootin for failure but I'm not. I really do hope Garrett proves almost all of us wrong and becomes a great coach overnight.
In regards to the coaching staff I was all for firing everyone at the end of the season even if Garrett is staying. Now I'm leaning more towards just letting Garrett have to same staff as the year prior so the blame cannot be "it's a new system" anymore.
My theory is they will crash and burn next year or at best be mediocre once again and they will clear out the entire staff hire a HC who can then choose his own staff. This year is more of an expected failure but if it works then Jerry gets the credit
My original post was more to imply that if we aren't going to fire Garrett they may as well keep the entire staff, let them fail, then let new HC next year actually get to hire his staff.
I was all for kiffin firing till I figured, we don't want to replace his replacement next year when Garrett goes 8-8 again.
I'm still rooting for the team to prove me wrong and Jerry being right about Garrett would make me extremely happy cuz I root for the Star. Not the players or coaches. My opinion is Garrett staying for at least one more year is instead of changing everything again have a little consistency so there are no more excuses
I seem to have misplaced my optimist and am now wearing my fuzzy hater hat. lol
We went 8-8 this year with the worst defense in the league.8-8 Would be our best case scenario next year. I'm predicting 6-10 or worse.

Man, if 99% of the people on this forum owned this team, including the bigges Garrett homers on this board, JG would be shown out the door for his rotten performance, especially knowing the full inner workings of Valley Ranch and the baby-sitting going onto shield his sorry self. Get out of here, paying this joke like 3 million plus...
Well, it got so bad he hired Parcells, but I have heard that was just to build the new stadium...
None of the coaches that have been hired by other teams have impressed me so far. I don't know who everybody is expecting the next coach to be when they demand Garrett's firing.
And I believed that was the mantra going into this season.
Injuries were the excuse Garrett got (but somehow Rob Ryan didn't) last year.
This year, it's just a case of lather, rinse, repeat.
I guess whenever this team has injuries it will always have an excuse for shortcomings and failure.
Here's to hoping nobody ever gets hurt in 2014!
Then maybe somebody can actually be held accountable for failure.

IMO, the deal with Rob Ryan wasn't as much based on performance as it was preparation. How many times did we see his defense scrambling around before the snap just to get lined up in the right place? How many times did we see Dallas line up with 10 or 12 on the field? I even remember one time when we had NINE out there. Luckily, we recognized it and got a TO called before the opposition could run a play.
No, Ryan was disorganized while in Dallas. The main difference between his tenure as DC and Kiffin's has been that at least Kiffin's crew has appeared to be organized. The failure has been in the execution, not the scheme. That certainly can be partially attributed to the lack of experience we had on the defensive side. Ryan had injuries to deal with, too, but even when his starters were there early in the season, we saw the same disarray.
I think we will all be surprised at how much this defense improves if the DL can remain healthy. Thus year, we were playing guys who spent last summer bagging groceries.

Don't you find it funny that the 'disarray' did not follow him to New Orleans, where he turned scraps into a top defensive unit?
