I have to phrase this real carefully, so it doesn't wind up a personal insult...

Hmmmm, how to be diplomatic here??

Well, the gentlest way I can do this is to say that anybody who thinks the QB, and the QB ALONE determines wins or losses in the postseason is a freakin' moron... sure hope that group doesn't include you...

Scapegoating Tony Romo for the team's collective failure is beyond ridiculous... he simply didn't play all that badly in either game; oh, he didn't play his best games, but there were plenty of bigger goats, especially in the last one...

So true.

Wasn't Fasano's strength supposed to be his pass catching ability? Dropped TD

Wasn't Crayton supposed to have the best hands on the team? Drops

Isn't a WR supposed to complete his routes, particularly in the last two minutes of a playoff game in the red zone? Failure to compete/taking play off

Yeah, ROMO lost the game for us.

I want the same from my QB as well but remember Romo hasn't even been a starter for 2 full seasons. Check some of the other big name QB and see how long it took them to win a playoff game. Romo is outstanding and is well on his way to many playoff games...

Yes there's a lot to be happy about for Cowboys fans from the loss of your top talent evaluator, to an unclear chain of coaching command, to an offseason of worrying about Romo's ability to win big games. Congrads.

Keep believing that and it may come true.

Even if Ireland was our "top talent evaluator", do you think that it's going to have an immediate adverse effect on the team? Wouldn't it stand to reason that if Ireland is a big blow to Dallas, that it would take a few years of bad drafting to hurt the team?

And if you really believe that Romo can't win the big game because of the Giants playoff game, then you should really be taken with a grain of salt.

Not to mention the fact that Skins fans are the most stupid primates on the planet. Can't even get their condescending words right. Hey numbnuts, it's congrats, not congrads. :laugh2:

I want WR and TE that don't drop TD passes. I want an O-Line that stops making penalties. I want a center that can shotgun snap so the rest of the O-Line doesn't false start or get bad jumps off the snap.

Give me these and Dallas wins the Giants game handily (and I'm not knocking the G-Men, they did a terrific job).

Our top talent evaluator was Tom Ciskowski and he stayed. We lost the guy with the higher title.

There is no unclear chain of coaching command. Jason Garrett himself said he enjoys working "for" Wade Phillips.

Anyone worried about whether Romo can win a big game clearly doesn't know much about football. He didn't lose the big game, the Giants took it away because our WRs were not healthy and their Defense stepped up huge. Credit the Giants for adjusting. That's what good teams do.

Congrats to you too.

Wow. Just wow. I guess you were calling for Troy Aikmans head after the loss to Detriot in the 91 playoffs, huh?

By your logic you'd have dumped Peyton Manning LONG before he lost his first 4 playoff starts.

That's brilliant. Really is.

I guess you're another Cowboys fan who bothered to not actually watch the loss to the G-Men and just find it more convenant to blame it all on Romo.

I swear some fans are so damn spoiled. The guy has all of a year and a half of starting under his belt. A year and a half and he's already taken the team to the playoffs twice.

Think about that a minute and compare it to some of these other QBs whove been starting longer and havent even sniffed the post season yet, let alone won.

Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, Cleo Lemon, Jason Campbell, Chad Pennington, just to name a few are guys whove been starting longer (Some way longer) who've either never sniffed the playoffs or have lost the only time they've been there (Like Palmer).

Hell even Eli, who so many on ESPN and such seemed to be all over now, was 0-3 in his first playoff games before getting the 3 W's this year.

How about, instead of being so spoiled, fans start to realize that they're pretty damn lucky to have a QB like Romo who has taken them to the playoff 2 times in his first year and a half as a starter.

Or, I suppose, you could always have Henson, Leaf, Carter, Vinny, Drew, or some of those QBs back. Maybe you felt more lucky back then.

  • 11 penalities, only one of which was on Romo (and the league admitted afterward that the ref blew it, intentional grounding should not have been called);
  • At least 3 dropped balls (one by Fasano at the goal line that cost Dallas a td, another by Crayton when he appeared to have a shot at a long gainer and/or a td);
  • Extremely poor kick coverage that kept Dallas in a field position hole for most of the game;
  • Missed tackles too numerous to count;
  • Patrick Crayton hesitating after he had beaten Corey Webster on what could have been the game winning td with 20 seconds remaining.
Romo didn't have his A game, he made some mistakes, but anyone who says he lost that game is just flat wrong.

Nah, nah. No way man. It's just so much EASIER and more sexy to blame Romo. :bang2:

Couldn't be happier to see this post. Kudos to you for thinking clearly and not with the "I Want More" spoiled Cowboys fans glasses.

vintage = Romo basher.....we get it....

the sky is falling = Romo's fault

gas prices have gone up = Romo's fault

you got laughed at by opposing fans = Romo's fault

Romo made some mistakes, this is true. He took some sacks when he could have thrown the ball away.....oh and the league has come out to say the intentional grounding call was wrong, so get off Romo's back about that one.

However, he also made some plays.....and unfortunately his teammates didn't step up. Fasano dropped a TD. Owens dropped a first down. Crayton dropped a potentially long reception (possibly a TD). Crayton dropped a first down. Crayton stopped running on the 3rd down pass, which would have dropped into his hands if he keeps running.

The OLine completely stopped blocking halfway through the 3rd quarter. Not to mention the several penalties they committed. It was like they decided they were on vacation already.

Then there was the defense. Reeves was horrible. He couldn't cover a twin sized bed with a king size blanket.

So stop putting the complete blame on Romo...there was plenty of blame to go around.

Despite reports to the contrary, the situation at Commander Park is stable and ownership is heading in the right direction concerning the search for a new head coach.

With a OC and DC already in place, it will be very interesting to see who ultimately ends up acdepting the HC position.

At this rate there might come a time when no "experienced/well know coach" will ever take that job with Snyder in command! It's pretty sad if you think about it.

;)

What is the longest tenure of a coach since the Midget took over? I think it was Gibbs because it seems to me that all the other coaches were fired or quit after 1 or 2 years.

Be honest, all is not well in Ashburn, VA. Your team is in a state of confusion as your owner has fired the main coaches. Your post seems to try and justify that all is well but as I and everyone else can see Danny Boy has no clue what the hell he is doing. How do you explain that Danny Boy interview Gregg four times and he does not hire him as the head coach. Danny Boy pays Gregg and Al head coach money but turns around and fire both of them. And you state that your team is heading in the right direction, good luck!
