Yep, that's right...And like you said they beat us by one, we beat the Giants by 3, and the Seahawks beat us by 3...

See, they are winning those games and we are loosing those games.

That is a different point. His point was they are beating teams good not like the way we are.

We also beat the Eagles by 23, let's see if the Commanders can do that.

They also beat the Seahawks at home in overtime because the Seahawk kicker missed a similar field goal to the one he hit yesterday. The Commanders were ahead by 7 late and gave up a late TD. They then threw an INT and Brown missed a shorter FG than the one he hit against us. Identical scenario, just a different result.

The Skins could easily lose their next 3 games, this coming off a 2 game slide prior to beating the pathetic 49ers.

I think its time people give the Skins credit...they are a good team

and unlike us, their defense doesnt blow it in the close ones...

their offense scored 7 tds yesterday...we've managed only 6 tds in the last 4 games combined (Raiders, Eagles, Giants, Seahawks)

right now they are a better team than us, period. It probably isnt what people want to hear, but right now its true

likewise, so could we....

we should be 6-1, but we could very easily be 1-6 as well

our team is an enigma

There is a very real possibility that Philly could be last in the division this year. THey looked horrible on offense yesterday. Mcnabb is just not getting it done with that injury.
You could say the same about us...

Right now the NFC East is a toss up.

And if the 'boys are going to stay in the mix, they've got win some of these games they're letting go down to the wire...

imo we let our defense lose it for us, instead of lettingthe offense win it for us. put the defense in close games every single time and only score 10 pts, and this is gonna happen. our offense just needs to score more than 10-13 pts a game.

I have to ask, is blowing it only when you lose or does it count as "blowing" when you give up the lead and fortunately win in overtime?

The Commanders did so against the Seahawks in the same scenario as we did except they won in ot. Does that make the late td any less of a blow?

It's not that our team is enigmatic, it's that they probably need a helping of self-confidence and some therapy after dropping some of these games vs. overmatched foes they so desperately "tried not to lose." The grind-it-out, clock-burning, bus driver style offense may just be the exact opposite that the Cowboys need to win the NFC East now, at least that's my story. I know, I know, coaches coach and players execute, but this isnt advanced NASA rocket theory, here.

Every week I try to justify the Skins being downright lucky. However, they do have Gregg Williams and Gibbs running the show. And they are sitting there at 4-2. After this week I think the division will look like this

1) NYG 5-2
2) Dallas 5-3
3) Philly 4-3
4) Washington 4- 3

that's insane. all 4 teams above .500 almosthalf way through the season

I have to swallow hard to say it, but the Skins are looking like a pretty good team. The good news is that I think Dallas is better. I just wish the win/loss would show that. But if I were a Skins fan, I would be concerned about Brunell lasting the season and Moss not running out of gas.

you mean like we did vs NYG and won because they lost the toss and we scored the first time we had the ball?

also, Mark Brunell seemingly lost the game with a late int, but the Skins defense held and didnt allow the Seahags to get closer for the FG...a potential GW FG hit the upright for them

Yeah that is what I mean. You can't say their defence doesn't blow games if you consider the Giants' game a blow for us. In a similar sense, our games against Seattle were identical except the Seahawk last minute FG missed against the Commanders and was made against us.

Deadskins are playing alot better than we are right now. Hopefully our offense gets their sh** together soon but if we play them next week in Washington, I think we would lose.

I love how you guys have whole threads about the Washington Commanders. Just go ahead and admit it, you guys really love us and deep down are Commanders fans. I knew it all along. Fact is, we're greatly improved (obviously) and what's more, Joe Gibbs is doing this in only his second year. Our roster STILL has Spurrier's fingerprints all over it and the more they disappear, the better we will get. I'm not jinxing what we have going right now by saying we will make the playoffs, maybe not.... But boy, it sure is great to see us play good football again. Lastly, PLEASE keep choking away your games at the end. There's nothing I love watching more after the 'Skins game then flipping over to your game and watching Parcells shoving his assistants and poor play-calling ruining a chance for a win.

2nd half of their schedule isactually tough. They will finally start playing more division games, and start playing real teams that will give them a fight, not a 49ers team ravaged by injuries starting a first year qb.

2 games vs the giants, 2 games vs the eagles, 1 game for us to get revenge. Bucs will beat them. Chargers will beat them, Raiders can easily beat them. Rams will have Bulger back by then, and have a shot to beat them, only easy team left is the cardinals. It's about damn time.

Oct. 30 @ Giants 1:00pm ET FOX / 708
Nov. 6 vs. Eagles 8:30pm ET ESPN
Nov. 13 @ Buccaneers 1:00pm ET FOX / 707
Nov. 20 vs. Raiders 1:00pm ET CBS / 707
Nov. 27 vs. Chargers 1:00pm ET CBS / 711
Dec. 4 @ Rams 4:05pm ET FOX / 716
Dec. 11 @ Cardinals 4:05pm ET FOX / 715
Dec. 18 vs. Cowboys 1:00pm ET FOX / 708
Dec. 24 vs. Giants 1:00pm ET FOX / 713
Jan. 1 @ Eagles

Are you kidding me? The Commanders have a better defense than most of those teams and have a better Qb most of them too, a play-making WR and a quality RB.

I agree but what about the timing of this post? We have not proven that we can successfuly make a simple field goal or put a team away on more than one occassion. This was a gut wrenching dismal, deflating pathetic loss. Why on earth should we be concerned about the skins? Don't we have our own major issues?

Brunell isnt better than Eli Manning, Bledsoe, Drew Brees, Marc Bulger, and Donovan McNabb. Dont kid yourself. Portis is a solid rb, but hasnt performed against any teams with a real run defense. The only easy game they have left is Arizona. The rest of the games are hard ones. They WILL come down to reality.
