Commanders are a good team and they have an offensive scheme which lets Brunell light it up, unlike Dallas' conservative play.

Their defense speaks for itself. They are a solid team right now, I hope they falter, but right now, they are playing good ball.

I agree with you and Eddie. Some people here are determined to label the Skins as a rotten but lucky team. It ain't so, guys. They are playing very well. The gave Denver and KC all they handle and on the road to boot.

Now will they make the playoffs? Who knows. But they are playing much better than we are right now.

this isnt a comparison thread. the boys are already down to reality. the reality that we arent a superbowl team just yet. the skins fans think they are in the superbowl every year as we all know. we will see how the season ends.

Funny, just last week I read a thread on this board claiming that Dallas was the best team in the conference. Glad you all are so grounded in reality now :)

But this thread isn't really about fringe fans and their delusions of granduer. This is a thread discussing your claim that the "2nd half of their schedule isactually tough. They will finally start playing more division games, and start playing real teams that will give them a fight, not a 49ers team ravaged by injuries starting a first year qb" as if the Commanders aren't the ONLY team in the East to win a road division game, haven't played KC and Denver on the road, or haven't emerged from the toughest schedule in the entire league to date at 4-2. You somehow use this bizzarro logic to then declare we will lose to a couple 2-4 teams as well as ALL of our home division games.

It's a total Cowboy homer post and I simply called you on it. You can continue to stick your fingers in your ears and shout "Tralalalalala!" all you want, but facts are facts, and they don't support your arguements one bit.

some of you folks know me....and that I'm not a flamer around here.

But to let the guy who started this thread be your voice on those teams (I know he's not) is flat out embarassing. Hiero or Heiro or whatever. I know you WANT the Skins to be awful. But they aren't this year.

I'm not going to say they're better than a 8-8 or maybe a 9-7 team. But the way the NFC east is playing. Everybody and Nobody is.....all at the same time.

I was at the 49er game yesterday...and yes, they are THAT BAD! I was happy with the blowout. I was happy to be wrong about Brunell this season. If the NFL has a comeback player of the year award. It should go to him for the 1st half of the season. He's shut a lot of us haters up. Lets not pretend the 49ers with Rattay against you guys was like having Peyton Manning out there. They scored on ya.

I still have issue with the playcalling when Portis and Betts are in.

However, we're scoring points now, at home and on the road after a rough 1st two weeks.

I think this is just year two in a 5 year plan for Joe Gibbs.

Every team in the division has their strong and weak points. Right now, I'd be happy with a division title or a wildcard. Its all cool to me right now.

But, want to see the improvement every week.

Next week in NYC. I think we can score on them....and them on us. It might come down to turnovers.

After a bunch of "lucky" wins. They really aren't called luck anymore.

One tuck rule in Denver, one crazy bounce on a fumble in KC...and things could look different. We've had our BAD LUCK also this year.

Yeah, I'm also....not so sure.
They're overachieving right now for sure. Their d is playing very well right now and their offense is finding some teeth.
They have as much of a chance of winning the division as we do.
I say this because they can outcoach us hands down. We're ridiculously more talented than they are.
Last count I had for them: Taylor, Brunnel, Moss, Portis were the only players that I had any respect for on their roster and I think Portis is massively overrated.
I think we have more studs than that on the DL alone.
I'm starting to think that Wash beats NY. NY goes to the cellar of the division. And I think the Philthy-Foreskin game will be very interesting. I haven't decided if we're going to compete or not.

Well for what it is worth, I certainly do not see Washington as a bad team. I just think like Dallas they both have some proving to do.

If you as Washington fans are sold on the Skins more power to you and you could end up being proven right, but right now I think they are a good team that could end up being average or great same as Dallas.

Don't hate. The Skins are a good team. They know how to go for the throat.

Don't hate them for doing what they're supposed to do.

They're beating teams and beating them good. More than we can say about our games.

If we played the niners with Alex Smith at qb we would have routed them also.

It is a shame that we had to face the niners "A" team, and the skins got to face their scrubs... Alex Smith is going to be a big time scrub. What a waste of the 1st overall pick.

We DOMINATED Philly and hung 33 pts on them and they were suppose to be the "top dog" in the NFC east. Lets see the Foreskins do that. The 49er's are a JOKE!!! Oh yeah, and our D kepted their "high power" O oot of the endzone..

Of course Tim Rattay is a blue-chip talent....

This is likely very true. San Fran is awfully bad right now. Truth is, all us Skin fans would have had lots to worry about had that game been close.

Bottom line, there doesn't appear to be much difference at all between the top of the NFC East and the bottom. Furthermore, you could probably interchange any team in any spot and not be far off. No team looks much superior or inferior to any other (though you guys DID lay a whipping on the birds.)

Most knowedgable, reasonable Skin fans are excited to be where we are right now, but I don't think we know how good or bad this team is.

We're hoping we got something going.
You guys are hoping it's a fluke.
But nobody really knows.
Gonna be fun finding out, though.

Right now you guys are outperforming us. That's just the truth of the matter. I believe we'll be the better team by the end of this year. I am, however, jealous of you having Santana Moss. What a player!

Also a mention...Cornelious Griffin, Marcus Washington, and Shawn Springs? You dont think they are good? Griffin is arguably one of the best DT's in the league and Washington is a monster. Springs has become a lockdown corner since he's been here in Washington.

I have been more impressed with the Skins' Offense, than the defense.

I think people are forgetting a few things about our Cowboy team.

We've played the last two and a half games without Julius Jones. He will add a new dimension to our offense.

At the beginning of the year, our defense was still feeling it's way. We're so young on defense, and we are still learning a new scheme.

I don't think we've even come close to seeing how powerful our defense will be.

We've played the number one offense in the NFL three weeks in a row, and dominated them.....Philly, NYGiants, and Seattle.

Imagine what will happen when the defensive scheme becomes second-nature.

We still have the most sound defense in the league...what kills us and makes our D look bad in the stats is the long runs we've been giving up this year. Every single game we hold the runningback to horrible yards and then someone on our D overpursues and makes them look like they had a good D. Once that mistake gets corrected we will be in top form again. Our secondary has played very well the past couple of games.

Yeah, we all know "sound defenses" can't stop those big runs.
