You are thinking that this even gives you a chance at getting a chance of smelling the playoffs. When are you going to realize your owner needs to be put in a straight jacket and a padded room? Jason Taylor may still be a good player but he is not the final piece to the puzzle that is the Commanders, you guys are missing alot of pieces.

My man, you're talking to a cat who knows nothing about football. You're wasting your time....

For last years performance you can. This is a "what have you done for me lately" league. Ellis was great last year and played less games. Infact, a Pro Bowler....

but you can flip that around and say well if that's the case then Ellis is almost as good as Ware when in fact Ware is the reason Ellis is this good

Skins are immediately much better on defense now. The big unknown is how much longer Taylor will decide to play and whether he will begin to show any signs of slowing down. I would have loved to see him traded to us for a swap with Ellis and maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder.

yeah, but what worries me, flozell has never been a team leader,

when erik williams was here, he was the leader on offensive line, and made the other guys play in line, then erik turned that over to larry allen,

larry saw that the offenisve linemen kept in shape and worked at staying in shape

then each time flozell has gotten a big contract, his play has fallen off after that big contract signing

now, its time for sure for flozell to step up, stay in shape, and see that the other offensive linemen stay in shape year round, especially in december and january;

maybe hudson houck can kick flozells rear end, and make him step up to the plate,, i remember reading where flozell and hudson get along, because hudson would push flozell and flozell didnt like to be pushed

Man I don't know what you're talking about, Flo played EXCELLENT ball last year. He shut down every top pass rusher he faced. What season were you looking at?

my Commanders are capable of beating any team in the nfc east.the nfc east is the best division in football and has the current superbowl champs residing in it,now we got jason taylor it makes us even better..if you can win games in the nfc east you can beat anybody!!

He isn't 30, Quincy.

He will be 34 in one month.

Let's put it this way:

Would you give up a 2nd round pick next year and a 6th round pick in 2010 for Greg Ellis?

Greg Ellis had more sacks in 3 less games last year. And Greg Ellis is one year younger then Jason Taylor. He also has 1 less year of wear and tear on his body.

So would you give that up for Ellis right now? I wouldn't.

Ellis is no Taylor...period.

Taylor has ZERO injury problems whatsoever and is a TON more mobile then Ellis. Taylor can pass coverage if needed, and we all know how Greg is in that category.

Lik a couple of other posters in this thread, my reaction is "so what?" Like has been stated, Flo handled him, dominated him even. He was a NON FACTOR.

If there is anything to be worried about, it's how Columbo will handle the speed of the Andre Carter, who will be flipped. Then again, if they do flip him to the strong side, he becomes a complete non-factor because he sucks against the run.

So again, why the worry?

yeah now we have to consider the Commanders as a legit playoff team;

jason taylor will really help them now in the pass rush

only thing i see holding the reskins back is their new head coach zorn, with no offensive coordinator experience, the 3rd time that their QB campbell has to play in a new offensive system, generally takes a year for that to produce

but now, Commanders are improved on defense with jason taylor, as we all know the Commanders really didnt have to real pass rusher terror, now they do

I hope you're not serious. The 'Skins are 2-3 years away from challenging anyone for anything. I can understand if it was a competitive team that was a top pass rusher from the Super Bowl, but the Deadskins??! Come on! Taylor didn't give either of our OTs much trouble last year when we played the Dolphins, so I'm not sweating it. I do love it that Danny boy is still clueless as how to run a competitive franchise. Like has been stated, Taylor gives them a couple of years, if that. You would hope to expect more than that from a fairly high 2nd rd. pick.

Way to go Tuna. You picked Snyder's pockets for us. You da man!

Taylor must be incensed that they traded him so quickly. He ain't gonna like the heat in Ashburn this week.

now i do agree with you flozell played real well last year, all except in the playoff to the giants, that wasnt one of flozells and columbos along with kosiers good games,

I guess he didn't have a clause in his contract saying that he only can be traded to a contender.

Hopefully Columbo can handle him as well as Flo has!

Andre Carter will remain the Commanders' starting right defensive end despite the acquisition of Jason Taylor.
A right end/OLB in Miami, Taylor will play the left in D.C., where his long frame could come in handy versus the run. Carter and SLB Marcus Washington, who Taylor will play in front of, both project to benefit from the addition.

They let anyone have a keyboard these days, huh?

First Taylor will be a good player for you. But the thing is, you need wayyyyyyy more than just Taylor on your D.

If you think you should be the favorite, or even the second place projection, or third for that matter you are delusional.

I can't believe anyone would believe the Foreskins signing Taylor makes them a contender. Please!!!!!! Taylor is definitely on the downside of his career and one lanky DE won't help the Skins enough to make a difference. They will finish last in the East and I guarantee it.

Unless Jason Taylor is a Pro Bowl QB as well and will be play there for you, your team is still the same dog **** team it was yesterday.

QCampbell isn't leading your team anywhere. He is garbage.

the Commanders knew they needed an opposite pass-rusher, now that they finally get down to hammering out a deal when they lose 2, does it scream reactionary, he just made a wiser decision, it's still the same, old Danny boy

now if they were keeping up talks every now and then, from the draft till now, I could see differently

And again, how do you know they weren't?

Nevermind. I am talking to a person who believes we made a serious run at Chad Johnson.
