Extremeskins is down.

I'm guessing the Fassel hiring became official.

:laugh2:

I couldn't get on, either.

Good to see you here.

Well said B&G. If anything, the cliff needs to be a little higher. Such a poor, poor decision. The idea that Fassel is good with QBs, while maybe true and maybe not, is a ridiculous premise for hiring him as a HC. Hire him as the QB coach fine, but it's not as if he will be working closely with Campbell as HC. I'm stunned.

Would R Ryan implement the 3-4 in Washington?

That's what he primarily coached as the base defense in Balt, correct?

Yeah. It's like Wade's system, a 1 gap 3-4 instead of a 2 gap 3-4. While it would be fun to see them try and move Carter, Fletcher-Baker, McIntosh and Marcus Washington to 3-4 LB positions, I still kind of hope they don't since the less 3-4 teams out there, the better for Dallas in the long run.

With the dearth of good defensive lineman, at least relative to linebackers, i see more and more teams going 3-4 until talent levels change.

That's pretty much the reaction I would have had. I just have to hope for a miracle - Snyder and Cerrato making a good decision against all conventional wisdom.

So, who is the Skins HC coach then?

Wow, I just don't get this at all. Fassell's not a bad coach, but Williams deserves a shot.

Let's get real here....Gregg Williams has squeezed every bit of talent out of the defenses he's coached. I feel he deserves a ton of credit for the Commanders playoff run this year.

I don't think the Skins go 3-4. Ryan knows a lot of different fronts. I believe someone on here mentioned that his daddy ran the 46. This is pretty much what Washington did anyway....stacked the line....

Perhaps. Problem is that most coaches "grew up" on coaching the 4-3. Plus, there's still a lot of 4-3 LB talent that don't fit in the 3-4 since they are too small.

I've heard people predicting the NFL to become a 3-4 league for years. So I'll believe it when it actually happens.

Since I'm not a football guru, it would be interesting if someone would post all the teams the do run the 3/4 today...because I have a feeling that Snyder is just trying to follow the trend?

Cowboys run the 3/4 as do the Chargers...and Pats, right? Who else?

Steelers and maybe Jets and Dolphins.

Well, with Parcells now with the Fins it's probably a sure thing that they will transition to the 3/4...

I do think the Steelers run it...

I was also neglecting that it is very difficult to find a nose tackle who can occupy two blockers on every play. We don't have one on our roster right now.
