Hate to say it but that's a good hire... Especially if they can get Ryan from Baltimore.

It's not terrible, but not necessarily "good".

The panic from the Commanders fans is funny, but Fassel likely won't do any worse than they've been. He's good enough to get 8-8 to 10-6 most years.

I just think initially, with the continuity and new system, they may take a step back. But overall, I don't think they will totally fall apart. But I also doubt they'll improve significantly either.

Ryan coaches the 4-3 in Baltimore

he has some 46 tendencies, so it wouldn't be a drastic defensive philosophy, overhaul

He actually runs the 3-4. Very similar to Wade's scheme. He used to have Ngata actually playing DE with Trevor Pryce and Gregg playing NT. Scott and Ray Ray are the ILB's, and Adalius Thomas (can't remember his replacement) and Terrell Suggs were the OLB's.

Yeah, he did bring in BP and appeared to change. But now, it looks a lot more like the late 90's than it does the last several years..

It does?

Are we giving up high round draft picks for veterans? Are they drafting players with massive off the field issues? Are they constantly going after veterans with off the field issues and signing them to big deals? Are they refusing to pay good money for assistant coaches? Are they refusing to pay good money for kickers/punters? Are they refusing to draft a quality kicker?

Perhaps that could all happen this offseason, but in the 2007 offseason Jerry's plan was far, far different from his days in the late 90's.

Jerry hired Jimmy. He wasn't going to buy the team and hire a coach and then fire him after the first year when Jimmy totally cleaned house and was virtually starting from scratch.
Bill didn't hire Cam, so therefore he's now bringing in his own guy.

Wayne Huizenga hired Cam and he has to explain firing Cam Cameron after one year. Jerry was considered an idiot for keeping Jimmy around and he stuck with him.

Also, I don't know where people make up these stories about Jimmy and Troy. Jimmy didn't give up on anyone. He just hedged his bets by bringing in Walsh in the supplemental draft to provide competition. Troy won out and Jimmy was still able to get a 1st and 3rd for Walsh.

It's not making up stories. Jimmy said that he wanted Steve Walsh himself. He's claimed that was his biggest mistake in Dallas.

And it's funny how people act like Jerry has always made the personnel decisions, yet Walsh was clearly Jimmy's decision. Hmm...how could that be? Guess what? Jimmy made most of the personnel decisions those first five years.

Jerry is the final decision maker. But for the most part over the years he does get players that the coaches want. Gailey wanted Warren and Ismail and Jerry got them. Campo wanted Galloway, Glover, and Hardy and Jerry got them.

Jimmy wanted Haley, and Jerry got them.

Made some horrendous mistakes? That's an understatement. The Jerry of the last dozen years is remarkably like Snyder, not as bad, but close

Unfortunately for the Skins, Snyder is still stuck in the same path and for the past 5 years, Jerry's changed his ways. Until he goes back to his old ways, then I will put Jerry in the same category as Snyder.

Why are you breaking this all down for Bach? You are spending way to much time defending Jones w/ this character.

You are far better than that Yakuza.

Bach is just beating his JJ hate drum. It's the norm.

What have I stated that isn't true?

I love how pointing out facts is "hate".

Yakuza really nailed it all in his reply to you. If you can't seperate the differences between JJ and Snyder after his post, then you just ain't gettin it.

And yes. The JJ hate schtick that you always seem to be carrying into every thread, does kinda wear on some of us after a while.

Facts :laugh2:

You guys don't want to hear facts. You just want to bury your heads in the sand. But hey, as long as we act like it's all rosy then it is, right? Just like acting like there was no late season swoon. Guess what? Facts aren't always rosy. Sorry.

What is this thread about? Seems interesting.
Apparently, Dan Snyder is prepared to offer Jerry Jones the role of GM or something.

I'm pretty sure they switch between 3-4 and 4-3 depending on the situation, but I could be wrong.

Back on TOPIC!!!!!

I am really disappointed in Snyder not giving the job to Greg Williams. That is just stupid. The guy knows the organization and the players love him and seemed to really enjoy playing for him.

The Skins were turning it on in the end.

Tsk tsk!

Keep up the great work Snyer.

Dallas loves ya brother!

FWIW, ESPN has reported the job hasn't been offered to Fassel.

I think Danny just likes to play games for the attention.

No, don't say that. It just gives us hope, meaning we have to have our hearts torn from us again tomorrow.
