Some blogs are more credible than others, Fuzzy. Are you referring to this one?

Who is Michael Smith other a guy who writes an AOL fan blog and cites PFT as a source?

and is he a "chicago bear" at the time of the press release? if yes, then game over. if no, then you may have a point. till then, keep digging cause i'm ok with common sense kicking in here.

Game over? Game over? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no it isn't over.

Now a free agent, Tank Johnson waits

By Larry Weisman, USA TODAY
The only game Tank Johnson can play now is the waiting game, a realization the former Chicago Bears defensive tackle knows only too well.
Johnson spent 60 days in jail for violating his probation on weapons charges and understood he would be suspended for up to half of the upcoming NFL season for breaching the league's personal conduct policy.

Then he was cut by the Bears after being pulled over a week ago for speeding in Gilbert, Ariz. He was cited for "being impaired to the slightest degree" after declining a breathalyzer test. Now he's waiting again — waiting for the toxicology report from Arizona and waiting to see if there are further charges and what impact they might have on his chances to find new employment in a league short on patience with misbehavior.

Johnson must serve his suspension with any team that might wish to sign him, though it's still possible that two games could be subtracted from his ban if he meets certain guidelines. But the Arizona case "could impact" the discipline the NFL imposed, spokesman Greg Aiello said.

So Johnson waits, working out near his Chicago home.

"We're in a holding pattern," said his agent, Bill Heck. "We've got a lot of territory we've got to weave through."

Heck said there are "some feelers out there," but that a signing of Johnson is not imminent because of the uncertainties.

Any team signing the 6-3, 300-pounder would have full access to him through training camp and preseason games, but he would then be suspended by the league for the first half of the season.

Johnson will be entering his fourth NFL season. He was a second-round pick in 2004 and has only missed two games, one while suspended by the club. He has nine career sacks.

Johnson was pulled over at 3:30 a.m. MT last Friday in Gilbert for driving 40 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone. He was cited for "driving under the influence impaired to the slightest degree" based on an officer's observations and had blood drawn at the police station for a blood alcohol test. Results are at least a week away.

"We just have to see how it plays out," Heck said.

Why couldn't they?
Has Quincy Carter served a suspenions for his positive drug test?

Has Antonio Bryant?

This isn't new folks.

Under contract means exactly that. Once he is under contract he owes the NFL 8 games.

By the way, the Cowboys already said no to players with character flaws so why presume that they have done anything other than mention his name in casual conversation.

Maybe you haven't heard of him, but I believe Michael David Smith is a very credible blogger, IMO for the AOL Fanhouse site, he also helps push content to PFT.

... He could be banned from the league for that time who knows but Im looking for something that says a contract is a prereq for a suspension.

Who's taken over Fuzzy's keyboard? Because these quotes are gold.

Fuzzy, I see that you've already capitulated, but this thread is more a monument to your tenacity than to your cognition. Generally, your threads are better when you use both.
