It’s more about who coaches the backup QB. If you got Reid or Peyton you’ll probably be ok. The Cowboys? Not so much.

Not better in the 4th quarter when Dak excels.

I don't know, last 2 years no not ready. Now? I can't say since he has not had to play. He should have a full understanding of the offense which is a big help to any QB so how would he fair now? If people where honest about it there is no way of knowing how he would do. Our last QB sat for 3 and half years before ever taking a live snap.

Not sure I'd blame the OL. He got better once him an coop cot some reps. But either way it shows QB play can very depending on those around them.

    I do.

    Can't teach arm strength.

To be fair. I would argue that this goes for just about every QB in the league, except the few elite ones.

I would also say that the Cowboys receiving Corp was god awful before Cooper arrived.

I would then say that Dak is playing much better as an individual than he was in early 2018. Regardless of supporting staff.

Cooper would take away the deep threat. We'd be more like 2017. We could win some games, but it's a big drop off and we lose what Dak brings in the run game too.

    1-2

Matt Moore back when we had him was probably better that Rush today. Now with years of experience, Moore is a lot better. Cooper isn't just a backup, he's a low budget backup. Not horrible, but never threatening to be a starter, and always someone you're looking to replace even as the backup.

i worry with him because if he doesn't get the ball out quickly in his progression reads, it all breaks down for him and disaster will occur, his feet gets panicky, holding the ball for a sack, fumble, etc. i think he will try to get the ball downfield but it's gonna be an arc floating and lofting the ball so WRs can run under it. He cannot power the ball in tight passing lanes and deep seams. We'd have to work to his strengths and limited what he doesnt/cannot do.

Although I do not want to find out, I think at best Cooper Rush would be a bus driver. And since his downfield throws float so badly, I think we'd have major issues moving the ball as the opposing D would most likely stack the front.

Decent on short stuff as his instincts are off the charts, but would be a pick machine further out.

Arm strength is not the most important quality in a quarterback- as you can see.

A bare minimum of arm strength is the most important quality in any NFL QB. Nothing else you do will matter if you don't have the arm. No, don't have to have a great arm, but it's got to be adequate.
