Nobody is even insinuating that rush is a top 10 ish QB. Literally no one is saying that

Your question is based on the faulty Dak Davidian notion that Dak is a top 10 QB, therefore anyone who says Rush is better than Dak must be saying that Rush is a top 10 qb

Neither one is a top 10 QB

That's why no one is answering your question. It's based on a completely false premise. There isn't a soul on this board saying Rush is a top 10 QB. He can be better than Dak and still be far short of top 10
Who said Prescott is a top 10 QB? I’ve always argued he’s more in the middle of the pack in the NFL . And have said he’s over paid and over hyped. I’m just holding these irresponsible comments accountable.

Unfortunately in the NFL most of the teams have to build around average to above average QB’s. And even the more hardened critics place Dak more in the middle of the pack.

So, if the argument that Rush is better than Prescott that places him closer to top 10 or at least above average than Prescott. And average is enough to earn a franchise QB label in the NFL that some teams would offer high draft capital for.

You're joking right? Several formerly high producing receivers got ostracized to protect Dak...
Who the hell is it then? Because if you are talking about Amari…he was trash prior to
Coming to Dallas and got 100 million while here…but please tell me these guys.

Cooper, yes.
1st round pick, very talented.

Dez, former legit all pro and pro bowler. Averaged about 1400 yards a season and about 14 TD or so for 3 or 4 years in a row, then all of a sudden became a "poor route runner" who "couldn't get open" for Dak.

Witten, a legit 1st ballot HOFer. Yes he was aging but it's not like he all of a sudden forgot how to play the game but even a Cowboys legend like Witten was tagged as a liability to cover for Dak.

Beasley to a lesser extent. Not a supremely talented buy in the same mold as the others mentioned. but still a very good slot receiver who got run out of town because he wouldn't fall on his sword for Dak. Cole Beasley on Cowboys' WRs: We're just getting open (nfl.com)
Bease was done the minute he made this comment.

all we heard about was the Cowboys WR's "couldn't get separation" enough for Dak to have the massively wide windows he needs to hit the receivers. Beasley (and next gen stats as well) contradicted this false narrative. Next thing you know, Bease is gone. Probably just a coincidence though.....

Cee Dee Lamb is nothing more than the next good receiver who is being scapegoated for this JAG qb who is stealing franchise level salary money. Business as usual. Jerry's Kid will be protected at all costs.

This is more important than most realize.
If you go back and watch Dak in college,
he took big drop backs and only liked to throw to wide open receivers. This is why he couldn't beat good teams.
Something Kurt Warner pointed out was how Dak was dropping too deep and missing open receivers because he was late setting up.
Dak likes for the receivers to find an open spot that he can easily throw to them, and he really struggles when his passes need to have "touch".
He doesnt do well when he has to adjust his passing to drop the ball in to a receiver behind a defender.
This is a requirement for great quarterbacks to understand and master. You dont often have a clear path between the quarterback and receiver to throw the ball, and being able to put "touch" on your passes is critical.

Rush - 6 Games, 7 sacks, 14 hurries, 16 knock downs, 2.2 sec pocket time.
Dak - 4 games, 7 sacks, 11 hurries, 12 knock downs, 2.5 sec pocket time.

I thought the packers put a lot of pressure on Dak at times. but when you consider the rest of their performance stats, it looks like Dak creates more time in the pocket but it does not result in fewer sacks, hurries or knockdowns. Whast does this all mean, I don't know, but I could speculate that Dak holds the ball longer than Rush.

Granted, it's 5 games for Rush, compared to four for Dak, but it's still a stat that stands out.
After a 4-1 start, Cooper Rush has 1020 yards, with 5 tds and 3 interceptions.
Dak has a 2-2 record in 4 games, 856 yds, with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
I was actually surprised to see that Rush is still leading in stats, especially since he played against the Giants, Eagles, Bengals, and Commanders, and Rams.
Dak has faced the Packers, Bears, Lions, and Buccaneers.
Make of it what you want. But Rush has 154 yds more than Dak, so the extra game isn't really an issue.

WOW!!!! Talk about some BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSTUFF!!!!!

#1. Rush's 1020 includes his mop-up duty versus the Bucs. I love how you give Dak the L, and the pick from that game but Rush the yards without any of the blame?

#2. The COWBOYS have a 6-3 record. Stop buying into mainstream media crap of it's QB vs QB. IT'S NOT.

#3. Dak has played 3.5 games and has 154 fewer yards than a guy who played 5.5 games... and more TDs.

#4 Cooper had 156 attempts and is/was averaging a 58% cmp/%. for that 1020. Dak only has 127 attempts, averaging 65% for his 856. Dak 6.74 yrds per attempt. Cooper 6.53.

Dak has more yards per attempt, a higher completion %, and more TDs.

This is not an argument. Coop did a great job and helped the team win some games. Dak is better and worth the money.

If Rush is better than Prescott then he should fetch some high draft capital in offseason cause we surely won’t be able to resign a top 10-15 QB as a backup .

I’ve asked the Dack Hacks about this and all I get is crickets.

You are not going to get high draft capital for Dak either.

Rush has merely played a bit better than Dak against overall better teams when he had the chance. Saying he has done better than Dak so far does not mean he is top 10 since Dak is not top 10.

If you want the easy translation it is this: Dak is getting paid like an elite QB, but his production does not justify that. Not even close. He's got a stronger arm than Rush, but Rush reads the field better. His nobody backup has produced better results against a better set of teams this season. Dak is also showing the signs of being a choker in big moments.

We cut Cooper, Collins and didn’t re-sign Ced almost entirely due to Dak’s contract.

While I'm certainly no Dak fan, I'm not sure that his contract was the reason those 3 guys aren't on the team. Collins just needed to go. He is a below average tackle and a head case and he was overpaid! I wish they could have found a way to keep Cedrick Wilson, but Miami way overpaid for him. I think Cooper being cut has more to do with Jones souring on him than anything else. I think the Cowboys figured that Cooper didn't have a winner type of approach or attitude so they wanted him gone. I wish they would have waited a year, after losing Wilson and Gallup being injured to part ways with Cooper. Maybe they felt he was a bad influence on Lamb or something.

Regardless of Dak's salary, his talent ceiling is the biggest limiting factor in how successful the Cowboys will ever be against top competition. I actually think Zeke's salary is a most out of line on the team. Cutting Zeke next year and letting Schultz go should help the cap. The Cowboys have drafted well for the most part, they need to spend some draft capital on a QB in next years draft. Otherwise the Cowboys are going to be sitting there with Dak playing hardball on the next contract and the Cowboys not having any other good options.

How many points does Dak need to score a game? 35?

He just dropped 28 and 49 points. Maybe we should have shored up our defense so that teams aren't regularly running for 200+ yards on us

The run defense is the #1 reason the Cowboys lost to Green Bay. Dak's poor play was the #2 reason. Sure the Cowboys would have won with better run defense, but they also would have won with better QB play.

See, a person that understands that BOTH things can be true. If Dak doesn't commit the turnovers to give GB life, they win. However, once Dak DID lead Dallas to a 28-14 4th quarter lead, Dallas' D didn't do THEIR job to hold that lead. It's NOT only on one entity.

Worth the money? How do you figure that?
He chokes when the going gets tough EVERY time!
Sure, Dak puts up great stats vs teams that are less than great, teams who aren't trying very hars, and against loose defenses.
But Cooper Rush came in cold off the bench, was inserted during what most perceived as the critical phase of the Cowboys schedule, and responded by moving the ball and producing winning results.
Dak would have got beat by Detroit if the refs hadn't stepped in and took a touchdown from them.
Yet you guys vehemently defend Dak, rather than the guy who stepped in and made the Cowboys relevant this season.
If you really care about the Cowboys, looks like you'd be excited to know Rush can produce better results.
I'm not saying Rush is top 10, but he’s proven he's more effective than Dak- and I don't want to see another season wasted simply because Dak doesn't get to play easy opponents.

Would you advise benching Prescott for Rush.

Would you advise benching Prescott for Rush.

If you are basing it on the team's success with one guy vs the team's success with the other guy (in this case, 4-1 vs 2-2), what would you do?

Sometimes a guy is just a better fit for a team, system, whatever and things just click where they didn't before.

with Rush, the Cowboys went 4-1 against teams who have a combined record of 28-18
With Dak the Cowboys are 2-2 against teams who have a combined record of 15-24 and none of them over .500

I mean, taking everything else out of the equation and just looking at that and how the team functions with one guy under center vs another, what would you do? If you were genuinely trying to win ball games instead of sell jerseys, or justify a huge investment, or any of the other potential reasons for sticking with one guy over another that don't have anything to do with wins and losses, who would you go with?

Honest question.

I always go with the more talented and one who provides the best opportunity to win.

Do you think Rush is winning any of those games if defense gives up 30 points?

We were winning because of a top 10 defense only giving up about 14 points a game not a bottom tier offense.

The Egirls game is a good example of more what it would have looked like with the defense we are seeing now.

So then it's reasonable to ask why the defense played better with Rush in, against better competition by the way....

maybe the game plan changes, etc, maybe the flow of the offense keeps the defense fresher, whatever.
all I'm saying is, with Rush the Cowboys played tougher competition and performed better.

That's an undeniable fact, at least over the first 9 games this year.

4-1 against tougher teams, 2-2 against lesser teams.

I don't have to explain that. It is what it is

Cee Dee has been productive with Dak what are you talking about? And Dez was so good why didn’t he catch on with Saints or Ravens? Witten went to the Raiders and was even worse…Cooper had great years with Dak. Y’all are full of it and spewing lies.
